Power trimmer user here. I’ve hand trimmed vs trim machine. I can’t tell any difference. Except time saved!

BG.. show us a image of Commercial Extractor Fan you plan on getting...

One item I didn't mention until now is that... just when I was just finishing up the above mentioned harvest trim... I still had a few branches left to clean up .. what most call popcorn buds... some of which I nicked name frass... what a carpenter bee might push out when burrowing into wood...

Anyways... I been thinking what some of the guys above posted.. about using bowl trimmers... of course I started looking at reviews and write ups on them.. didn't know exactly what to think about them.. so a few days before the last post I made I went to an auction and had the good fortune of bidding on this:

Vev

I'm to embarrassed to say what I paid for it... most of you would not believe me... It is the 24" model.. and last I looked can go for as much as 150 to 200 bucks... The was one hell of a surprise for me... the last thing I thought I would run into...

As mentioned I finished all the real buds... before I got a chance to use it... but I did get a chance to use it on the popcorn... next update I'll post my opinion and observations...

Would you recommend it for quality or just lots of weed
It does a pretty good job. Yeah it beats it up a bit. I typically trim about 1-3 lbs at a time. I dry in the same tent I grow in. So typically it is about getting it dried and into jars so I can get my next run up and going.

Hi all... just a generic thought and question...

Dry trimming ... It takes me about a one hour to process 2 ounces of cannabis to trimmed bud...

Using a pair of shears and bare knuckles.

I have no clue... whether this is average or what....

What are your times?
Depends on the the strain as to how leafy it is, some you can do a pound in a couple hours. Outdoor takes longer because it's more leafy typically ✌️

Starting to lean towards one of these, I can't keep hand trimming 20oz's a month, it takes most of the day.
Is a 19" Bowl trimmer a good size, my local grow shop sells them for £179, just worried about losing too much weight, how effective is it ?
how much time does it save, what's the advantages and disadvantages of using them?

I used bowl trimmers before and don’t like them. They didn’t get very close. I have a “fan style “ electric trimmer. I love it.

It’s fast is the only real advantage. It beats up the flower and the small stuff fall through. But to be honest I don’t even take the water leaves off. I cut it off the stem and let the trimmer do the rest. Then bag up the trim and throw it in the freezer. Eventually I will get around to making some hash.

Thanks Natep,
Sounds good to me, guess I will be buying one in the next few weeks, but first l find out more about a fan style “ electric trimmer as mentioned couple of post ago.

Same!

That does look impressive, after checking this online, thinking the bowl trimmer is the way to go, it's a lot cheaper and the plant trimmer is very noisy, don't really want any hearing this, quite and decreat might be the better way, thanks for the link.
They are loud.

Talking about load fans, I did get a large 14" commercial kitchen extractor fan installation diameter: 14 inch/350mm axial 4-pole extractor fan, Input voltage (single-phase electricity): 220-240V, 50HZ, power:145W, air volume :2500M3/H,Noise: 62db (A).

not sure is was the best idea as the blades have clips to Ballance the blades, so can't trim bud.

Thinking about hanging it from the ceiling(6" off), center of the room, and air flow. towards the ceiling as this will cause a strong airflow in the grow room without direct air causing wind burn, it's 145w so over 24/7 that's a lot of electricity but thinking back, good airflow really helps the plants, what you thoughts ?

Folks that trim for a living seem to do a pound a day min, good ones do 2 pounds a day.

The key are good trimmers with replaceable springs, they wear out, good ones come with back ups, keep they clean with occasional iso and you are golden. Sharp effective trimmers make a world of difference
