From what I have read about it, oil just will not do very well in a vape pen. About 80% vg works best from my reading but still leaves a lot to be desired. The article pointed out that vape pens with thc bought in legal states... no way to know what is actually in there, unless you have it tested with a mass spectrometer. Lol. Yeah, I looked into that too, decided it wasn't worth pursuing. Just my take on it. :cool:Hello, I'm trying to make thc liquid for e-cig but without any success. I'm using Rick Simpson oil and PG/VG 50:50 but when i try to dissolve the oil in pg/vg it sits like oil in water and no matter what i do (heat cold) it can't be dissolved. I've just tried only with PG or VG and effect is the same... Did someone have a same problem like me? I will appreciate any help. Thank you.
Wax liquidizer is what a head shop will sell. Sds sheets say pg 100, pg 200, pg 300.Do not use VG at all. It won’t meld with the concentrate. I am currently using rosin and pure PG. Just heat the PG to about 140-160 degrees F in a double boiler (pan of water with a shot glass in it works too) and let the concentrate melt for a few minutes. Then stir it until it’s uniform and then inject into your carts. I use CCELL brand carts (not knock offs those tend to leak) and have had great results. I use a 1:1 ratio for the best results. This means 1ml of PG to 1 gram of concentrate. If the concentrate does not melt then something is wrong with the concentrate. I have a rosin press that uses pressure and heat to extract the resin and it works great for eliquid suspension.
The article I read must of suggested pg, not vg, just didn't remember right. But, they mentioned that it still separates even after its blended when warm, and that there was still issues. Could of been an older article too. As I'm retired, live alone, and rarely travel, I really have no reason to pursue it. I also have a heat press, I been pressing at 120 and 100 micron but have 75 on order. You get almost as much oil, as using say a 220 vs. 100 microns if you prepare it well. I use a dab rig, have a reclaimer on there. And, if I do go somewhere, I have a Yocan torch. Hope you get the OP going and glad you have luck with the vape pen. :cool:Do not use VG at all. Same process. Just buy the pg 3 way mix from Texas labs or something like that.
I bought the flavors from nicvape, they throw ya an extra for buying 5
I am guessing the consistent temperature and time, are the main keys to your success. I think I'd try your same process if I ever pursue that. Thanks.I use the double-boiler method and only had problems with vg. I use food grade pg 400 (1:1 for leisure and 2:1 general use). I have found the key element to be keeping the heat of the mixture as close to 180 as i can get without going over, for 3 minutes. I also use a 10 mil or larger syringe to ensure complete mixing and contact by sucking it up every 10 or 15 seconds during the 3 minutes. If turps are big concern this is probably not for you. I am in a situation where i need to avoid the smells associated with my indulgence. Good Luck
