Hi everyone, newbie to site. I've stepped into a situation with 4 ft. clones going into bud in mid May. Started in greenhouse, lighting brought down to 13 hours. How should I finish?I understand that they were put out early. Can harvest still be achieved? Strain is lemon cherry gas. Plants are strong and healthy. What's my next step?Any helpful

advice would be greatly appreciated.

light deprivation would be the only way I know. With the day length lengthening, they are likely going to reveg unless they are auto-flowers. It looks like you're planted in the ground so it may be tough to avoid revegging unless they indeed are autos.

Edit: you did say clones so I assume they are photos.

Ooops i'm bettin we'll see a few of these posts. Well if you leave it out it may continue to flower or just do it's thing revegging. We can talk about that later LOL it's happened to me and it ain't pretty. How many you got doing that? I had 7 6ft ones.

I didn't realize you could put an auto out too early.. I thought they were on their own internal schedule. Could you elaborate for me please.

Autos aren't supposed to be influenced by day length. It's why I stated what I did ... but if they are autos, they aren't likely clones. That same internal timeclock you spoke of make cloning an autoflower plant unrealistic.

So yes, if they are autoflowers, they should not reveg. You should be more concerned about weather ... especially night time and if you are in an area where you frequently drop into the dew point. If you are, get your leaf blower ready. If you aren't and the plants remain dry at night, you're golden.

The misunderstanding for me is when you said "4ft clones." If they are clones, and are 4ft tall, they aren't likely autoflowers ... yours would be the first I have heard of.

I'm not sure how to answer that. It takes time. I can say that much. Will they flower? Yes, most likely once your day length goes under 14 hrs. How long the reveg takes and how much growth energy is lost to the reveg, or what your final yield will be are what I can't answer.

Most people don't realize that a plant started from seed in May can be huge by harvest time. There's no real need to start them too early.

Interestingly enough, I have deadhead auto's outside also. Been budding for a couple weeks now. Except one of them has buds that look... different from the rest.

I can't tell for sure because of my old man eyes and your picture ... but to me it looks like its fox-tailing. Strikes me as odd too.

Edit: It kind of looks like its revegging too.

Foxtailing in Autos is almost normal. I usually grow 15-20 in fabric pots every summer and at least 5-8 foxtail on me.
Which is no biggy 'cause I make edibles out of darn near everything. LOL

I truly believe foxtailing in autos are stress induced, due to irregular watering. If put in the ground where it's more stable, I think the 'problem' would be alot less.

I don’t see where you have any choice! Will be an interesting summer! It’s still pretty early! You could pop seeds or get some clones going and enjoy a relatively normal grow depending on where you’re at! Photos!

Photos rarely finish where I am at. While I only grow photos inside, I will only grow autos outside in my climate.

A modern autoflower can be surprisingly strong. It's not like they used to be. Here's an example:

Probably September and you’ll have to push them into November to finish not easy weather storm frost and snow unless you in grow paradise cali then leave it there till it’s done lol

The flowering date depends on where you live. You must be in a rather northern area.

In my area, plants start flowering about the 2nd week of August. I consider myself in a more northern, shorter summer climate. Some people do manage to push a plant to mid October. With the wet falls we have, it's a difficult dance that can end in disappointment. You can do everything right and still end up losing part or all of your crop.

Further south from me moves the flowering date towards July. Warmer weather climates have significantly longer summers.

Far enough south and daylength never leaves the flowering zone ... never more than 14 hrs of daylight and never less than 12.

I looked for the post and I remember replying to it but I could not find it. It was about 2 weeks ago so still April. It was an auto he had put out when it was in flower. He had a question about why it stalled. He had 4 fans growing out of the middle of a flower and the pistles were brown and no new flower growth. It looked like pictures of a photo reveg.

If I were to make a purely unscientific shoot from the hip type of guess, I would say the outdoor environment stressed the plant and triggered its response. I don't know for sure, but its possible.
