They have probes for soil..imo,you might want to change pots??. I use water so...I don't have issues like this.

Since my plants aren't dying and could easily look worse, I'm going to assume my ph is in the low 5s.

Why do I need to change pots. If I want drainage I can just drill some holes right? Or do u mean replant in a different pot with fresh dirt. Maybe I should try both.

If was me...in dirt.. would have good drainage..my old man grows with dirt.he trans plants alot,small pot to bigger and bigger until size he wants.all pots have hole,paper towel lines the bottom inside,then it's a mix of perlite,he checks his fun off for proper pH adjustment...at any rate all roots need flushed,I've never seen a plant live in a sealed bucket...and yes at least make some hole and flush your soil
