Earth Juice Organics and Coco

Anyone running organics in coco? I'm interested in building a hempy room for the ease of use, the faster growth than soil, and the ability to run multiple strains which would have been too risky in my UC setup. But most of all for the TASTE! :character0029:

So if anyone has any suggestions or experience running organics and beneficial bacteria in coco please do share -Keepz

My proposed coco run...

Like I stated in my previous post, I'd like to have an organic based grow to supplement my UC synthetic monocrop grow. I'm going to bite mrdizzles hempy vertical grow, but want to run Earth juice or brew teas instead of Floranova.

My medium will consist of 4/1.5 big and chunky perlite to botanicare's coco

I will line the bottom 27g Tough Box totes with the extra chunky perlite and place a drain fitting high enough to allow 5g of water to accumulate hempy style. Then top with the 4/1.5 coco mix. Was thinking of adding dolomite, EWC, and some mycos to the coco mix as I have seen others apply it to their soil-less mixtures with good results. Would this be benificial in coco or just a waste of my time?

Nutes I plan to use:
Earth Juice - Grow - Bloom - Micro-blast - Catalyst - Meta K - HiBrix
House & Garden - Roots Exc. - Drip Clean
BioAG - HumiSolve - FulPower
Botanicare -Silica Blast - CalMag Plus would like a chelated form with no nitrogen
Sipco - Hygrozyme
Humboldt - White Widow or should i buy bacteria and fungi seperate?

Anyone with experience using these nutrients on coco or making teas out of em? Thanks

yo mang1 i bubble the "strong" suggestion on the bottle for 24- 48 hrs and it works great! i have heard that you can up the dose if you bubble it...

My boy just told me over the phone that Technaflora's Magical is nitrogen free as well, but what I was trying to find is a separate chelated calcium and magnesium product independent of each other so I can cut out the magnesium at the end and just flush with calcium. Thanks -Keepz

Have you heard anything bad about White Widow when compared to Great White and Oregonics? Or have any experience to share? From what I read on the labels, and I could be wrong, White Widow is more concentrated. -Keepz

hey bud I would shoot for 2gal in the bottom vs 5, Maybe pour 2.5gals in and see the water line, then pour in perlite over the bottom and see how much it displaced it.

5gal would probably cause you to only need and water every 3-4days which is fine but I think its healthier to feed more reg

earth juice is the sh!t. I started using e.j and black gold back in 98 and i,ve tryed allmost every outher kind of neut since then & im back to where i started.
But if u want da real truth u need organics with synthetics!
Any basic base bloom is cool gh,bonticare pb4soil,cutting edge,h&g & all the rest im forgeting.
Then add your supplements, roots execel,hydrozyme,sweet,silica,catalist or whatever u feel they need.they let u know real fast if your wrong.
Dont forget the P/K enhancers M.O.A.B,Dry koolbloom,fox farm tri-pak,e.j mata-k ,micro blast.etc.
O yeah the reason i was posting in 1st place the General Organics CaMg+ is 0-0-0 just use half that & another camg. organics\syenthetics!
No ive said to much & im out.

Earth Juice Tea

OK lets see if I gathered the proper info. I'm going to use a 96g toter like these from lowes as a reservoir:

I will be using a dechlorinator instead of an RO system as I've been reading that EJ does not mix well with RO water. I know I can bubble it heavily with oxygen to get the chlorine out, but that would require another rez, air-stone, and pump for the amount of tea I'm making. So I'm assuming a Tall Boy dechlorinator would be the better option?

First, I'm supposed to pre-rinse and pre-buffer my coco according to this article:

To brew a batch of Veg tea I'm going to start with:

5ml/gal each of EJ Catalyst, Microblast, Grow, Brixx which is less than their mild recommendation of 1/2tbsp
10ml/gal BioAG Ful-power and 1/8tsp/gal HumiSolve which are the lowest recommended application rates for hydro
2.5ml/gal Technaflora Magical according to intstructions on bottle
2.5ml/gal Botanicare Silica blast according to its application rate on bottle
3 tsp or scoops of Great White which is half the recommended application rate for hydro for 100 gallons since I'm assuming that the beneficials will flourish in the 48 hr time period the tea will be brewing.

I want to use this as my starting point and thinking about adding the Hygrozyme on the days I'm flushing with just CaMg, but I'm not sure if Hygrozyme is meant to be brewed. Any thoughts? -Keepz

I guess my reasoning was, since I'm hand watering each tote individually until I get slight run off, it will be more forgiving if I forget or miss a watering until I get things automated. These are some big ass totes after all and will be doubling up the plants in each. Figured there is so much perlite mixed in with coco it would be almost impossible to overwater when I do get it automated.

I will probably go with your advice though as I'm not out to reinvent the wheel. And the whole purpose of running mostly perlite is to get more frequent feedings with a lean nute regimen. Sooo... I appreciate you dropping by bro -Keepz

I wasn't meaning to imply that this grow would be purely organics, but will be using pre-made organic nutes in coco for great taste and ease of use. Will probably add some kinda synthetic bloom booster like shooting powder or hammerhead/moab combo towards the end. -Keepz

The white widow has no bacteria or trichoderma. The Roots stuff does and is cheaper than gresat white.

Wont the mycos colonize and reproduce after innoculated?

Good point! It is a lot cheaper and I'm only using it to innoculate the tea so probably won't even need much with molasses on hand. But I'm pretty sure Great White has more species and at a higher concentration than Oregonism. Wonder if those extra organisms are worth the extra money though -Keepz

My buddy was wrong and Technaflora Magical has nitrogen so I will be going with GO CaMg+ which contains no N. -Keepz

trying the same thing this round. never tried EJ though. 6 parts coco, 2 parts perlite, 1 part worm castings, 1 part alaskan humus. might toss in some extreme gardening feeder packs. they stink like a fish's vagina so i'm sure my plants will love them. oregonism is the shit, just use it at half dose cos that's all you need. i'm gonna try to forego it this round and just rely on teas. here's my tea recipe
5 gallons RO or dechlorinated h2o
4 cups alaskan humus
4 cups worm castings
10 mls algen extract (or whatever seaweed at full strength)
60 mls molasses
10 mls technaflora humic acid (or whatever humic at full strength)
and i'm gonna add fish hydrolosate next time.
bubble 24 hours with high output air pump, strain, and mix 1 cup per gallon. this is microbe rich and has almost no npk, so you can feed with every watering. it should smell kind of like over brewed sun tea.

you have to keep innoculating every 2 weeks regardless of molasses just because microbes hate mineral nutrients. if you're feeding purely unprocessed organics, your microbes may thrive the whole time, but even high levels of natural pk will kill of your populations and you will have to replace them. that's why i'm just going to do weekly teas this time around. it's alot cheaper considering how often you will need to re-introduce your beneficials.
