Ok, been here for 3 days and Already very impressed. I was using rollitup, let's just be nice and say antisocial activity is running amuck.
Thanks for the breath of fresh air.
But to the point. Northern lights auto. 3 plants 8 weeks old. Chased my yellow leaves down to root bound wet soil, my bad. I had them in 2.5 gallon pots that didn't drain very well.
I'm a little unconventional so I went with logic, everything in those pots was wrong as it's the first time mixing soil. What a mess. Manure, compost and not enough perlite.
I researched repotting them and as some of you know, it's not advised. So back to my own unconventional logic.
I love to experiment so leaving a lot of soil on the roots I removed the plants one by one and put them in 5 gallon bags, I had soils I mixed ready it was sitting in a closed plastic bin, I uncovered it whenever it rained, got lucky and it did a lot for AZ rain.
The mix , 30% perlite, 30% mushroom compost, and 30% peat. Amended with diatomaceous earth to keep the fungi knats out and any other arthropod btw.
So after a light root massage It's all back in the grow tent.
I hope all goes well. Being as it is taboo to transplant autos according to most growers. It was do or die in this case.

Anyone else ever try this? I love to know how it went for you.

And this is Harvest Day. The Grow bags and better draining medium worked great. Fox Farm trio plus Cal-Mag under a Szhulx pt 4000 lighting.
Very Happy with the finished budz.

Yes I did. It's hang drying now. It was harvested yesterday because I will use this one for pain management. The others that are the same crop are still fattening up tho, no worries. Thanks for the input.

Looking back now that I toked it it was the most potent grow I had but I lost a lot of mass getting it that way. But again DAMN! Better than medical dispensary product. I'm bogarting it.
I'll not feed for THC outcome again tho. It was a hige sacrifice in the the harvest. 2.9 Oz is not acceptable in my opinion and there's nothing to souvenier for donations.
Anyone every tried to grow solely for potency alone before. And did you have any luck?

Mech, as long as you are happy with the results, that is what counts....in my last grow I kept after the low hanging smaller buds and let them finish because I didn't want to waste anything from the 3 plants I had. So in that case I was growing for maximum yield and paying attention to what the plant was saying. Color of bud, smell of bud, effect of bud, duration of stone -- all parameters we chase in these pages. There is also the intrinsic benefit to say, "this is the fruit of my own labor" which is also rewarding. Only growing since 2019, but during that time all the plants have been smooth smoking and decent. Glad yours turned out well and just proves that autos can be transplanted successfully if done carefully.

Thank you for the compliment on transplanting, it was simply a matter of not removing soil from the rootball , a little shaking it off only.
It was my 1st tottaly indoor grow so I "rookie rushing" I had a blast tho ya. I'm loving LST now to make my plants fit together like a puzzle in 2 four by two tents. With the advice you all give me on indoor growing I'm having the best retirement.

Thanks for the sanity simbapati.
