I’ll be concise:

March 28th, I planted my seed. A *supposed* CBD-heavy auto strain.

It sprouted within 3 days. (Pic 1)

After a few days of dialling in light levels (pic 2), and setting up a cheap little humidifier (pic 3), my area had a week of storms, with multiple blackouts. No light, cold temps, (Ontario Canada), and the plant collapsed with a thin stem base. (pic 4).

I couldn’t get it to stand up, so I put it outside in the cold as I was worried about damping off and didn’t want it spreading to other indoor plants (was a total noob and paranoid)

Despite the negative temps and snow, it somehow survived, and even perked back up. Creating a sort of trench-root. (Pic 5)

I reluctantly brought it back inside and put it under a low watt CFL bulb.

Over the next 7 weeks, it continued to grow, be it in a very rigid way. (Pic 6)

Once it was consistently warm enough, I brought it outside. It looked healthy, and was about 18” tall, so I decided to take a tall cardboard box to deprive it of light and induce flower.

I ended up having to leave for a few days on business, so the light cycle went back to whatever nature was providing. I decided to just let it be.

The plant had clearly stretched a bit, and soon, I was getting 3 blade fan leaves… I’m guessing this was an accidental re-veg.

But now, nearly 6 months later, the plant looks like this (pic 7). Have done a fair bit of defoliating too, though it may not look it.

Natural day light in my area has just switched to 14/10, so outdoor flowering times have begun.

Anyone know what I should expect to happen next?

ive done a similar thing this year , i had 3 seedlings which didnt take off so put them outside , in mud, clay based mud, and as soon as they got some sunlight on them after 2-3 weeks they perked up and stated growing so the healthiest one i dug up and put in a pot , with some decent soil ...that was about april, and its just started budding . i bought mine inside and put it under 12 hrs light because i didnt know if it was an auto or a photo.
if yours is an auto i dont know why it hasnt flipped before now.

Pretty odd for a supposed auto flower i think you were sold a bag seed photoperiod. You may get it to flower outside or who knows.

The plant should continue to grow in its vegetation stage until it's ready to flower. That should happen by the fall equinox when there are about 12 hours of darkness.

I definitely lean towards thinking I was sold a photoperiod, but I’ve also heard weird stories about people shocking autos into restoring photo traits, and wondered if the rocky start to life could have done that inadvertently.

The unusual can happen. I'm also told that the autoflower trait is genetically recessive, so it's possible for it to be absent a very small percentage of the time.
