Ppm 1000 ph 6.2 now.

20ml per gal calmag(was 10)
10ml per gal micro
15ml per gal grow
5ml per gal bloom
10ml per gal hydroguard

30ppm filtered water. I add mix in that order. Then dilute to 1000ppm.

Using cool mist humidifier due to warm mist heated the tent over 80 degrees. Tsl 2000 2×4 tent. 72 degrees lights off, 74 at 75% where im at, and 79 at 100%. . humidifier reads 40% with cool mist and 50% with warm mist which isnt used.

It sprouted on Feb 4th. Everything was fine until the leafs started getting bigger about a week ago. Once the leaf gets big, it dies. This is the second set that is doing it. I adjusted ph from 5.5 up to 6.3 due to a friend. He said it was a ph imbalance because I was running at 5.5. He told me it could take up to 10 days for the problem to go away. Hes never done dwc though and this is MY FIRST GROW.

For me it seems like its growing fast. The bucket holds about 4 gallon of water.

I had an air gap to promote root growth but due to not using chiller I developed slight root rot, and caught it, flushed and its no more. That was about when all of this started. I week 1 and 2 was 450 ppm, then i flushed and had 650 ppm while cleaning root rot, next day it was up to 850ppm so i flushed it thinking it was all thr root rot particles that raised the ppm. Now im at 1000ppm.

Im getting substantial growth and a thick healthy stalk.

My thoughts are either my ppm is too high and humidity is too low causing it to need more water from the roots. Which is why new parts grow fast but large leafs cannot get enough water?

Or there are particles in the cool mist non filtered water landing on the leafs choking them?

Or its a manganese defficiency or nitrogen toxicity. .

Like said above way to much cal mag and way to high of ppm.

100ppm of cal mag to start then dilute to about 400ppm

Ill re read the calmag instructions, could have swore it saif between 10-30mg per gal lol. . if it said 1-3 wow. . im dumb.

This issue started after root rot. Before that my ppm was 450 for the first week. I really dont know how it got this high. I work 12hr shifts. . ill dilute down to 500ppm when i get home. Thanks you guys. Much appreciated

Roots look good to me.

Started with 4 gal 30ppm water. Calmag to 120ppm, then 40mg micro, 40 grow, 20mg bloom. This took me up to around 800ppm. I diluted down to 420ppm due to starting at 30ppm instead of 0. Looks like i have a total of 8-10 gallon now. I then added 20mg of hydroguard to what looks like 10 gallon. Ph was 5.8 at that moment. I added some ph up and increased ph to 6.1

I flushed 1 gallon filtered water top down, drained all old and flush water, rinsed bucket, added solution. . and put plant back as it was. I cut off the 2 large fan leafs and cut a few lower leafs off that was touching buckets. Plant is wilting very hard and the roots had a heavy red tint to them due to over nutrients.

This is my practice run for my photos. This is just a dwc bucket swap. I have everything for the rwc, just didnt want to dump tons of liquid if i messed up. When this is done ill be doing a 2 bucket rwc system with photos.

Anyways heres some pictures of its current status.

Being this is an auto, Whats your thoughts on the yield I could get if nothing else goes wrong lol. And how long do you think I have until it starts flowering? Sprouted up on Feb 4th.

At this stage I prefer PH of 5.6-5.8
Dang thats right where it was too. Should I lower it or change it on my next swap? I was planning on just dumping it all in 10 days and refilling with fresh. Obv im a new to this and ill try not to bug you too much about simple things.

Adjust it imo... you may need to every few days. 5.6-6.1 is were I let it drift. Start at 5.6 and it rises aboit 0.2 a day then I PH it back down when it hits 6.0-6.1

Roots are white again, leafs are perky, yet the larger fan leafs still have spots on them from before. Ill post an update tomorrow.

I had something fall on the plant causing me to top it. I didnt leave the leafs due to it being my first top. Did i break it? What would you do from here?

Let her be and she will be absolutely fine... growth of the 2 offshoots just below will pick up a lot now.

Yea the growth below in just 12hrs is wild. Imma think of it as fate instead of an accident. I ment to do that ;)

New growers "Injure" their plants by trial&error, learning & memory of said error is key. Like I read & saw on youTube, measure nutes, 1st. micro, rinse measuring cup, 2nd Grow nute, rinse cup, then bloom. Never just mix all together & pour into gal reserve or watering can. Enjoy the R&D and "Learning is fun".

Problem is still here, but its manageable now. Its limited to the tips of the leafs. At least its not killing the fan leafs like before.

I was thinking it could just be damage done from before but it shows up on new growth once its larger. I took a pic of the new growth and there are no spots on the tips, but once they grow larger they will aquire them.

The trend seems to be sticking to where the bucket might touch the plant, perhaps at night when lights are off they wilt and rest on it more than when lights are on? I never really open it when the lights are off. Transpire issue?

I wish there was a way to make it a bit taller lol. I tried dimming the lights for a few days a while back, hoping it would stretch lol. . didnt work.

I want to clip the lower leafs that touch but ive done that so much and im getting ready to hit the month mark. . could flower. . its gonna need some lower leafs when it starts to flower. . only because its a short plant.

Ph stays around 5.7. Ppm started 430, 2 days later it was 550. Drained a few cups and topped off with 300ppm, lowering the ppm to 450 a few days ago. And last night the ppm was still 450. Water temp is 71.3

I do use a little extra hydroguard. I read it can absorb some of the nutrients in the mix I made.
