So... i have about 6 of these. Started in tent. Transferred from tent to soil in late may. Approximately 5 ft tall. Would like to top again. Usually in my climate flowering starts around mid September maybe as early as late august. Should i chop fan leaves slowly starting now? And how often can i top? Hella jelly, granddaddy purple, pbj, apple. and banana. 2 each of the first 2. 1 each of the last 2

Thanks

No need to see pics to just share some thoughts about topping and training outdoors. It's a different approach than what you're doing indoors. You want to be thinking about how heavy the buds are going to be if they're sitting at the very top of long branches... You want to think about the strains you're growing because if it's a low bushy indica you'll see they reach a certain height and then start struggling to reach higher. And you want to think about the number of branches your topping will create. If you're topping you might find you'll have to remove some branches because you'll have too many, which gives you a bushier plant with a larger number of much smaller buds. As far as removing fans goes, you have outside breezes so there's less concern about air flow and I suppose only mild concern about canopy penetration that could compel you to remove inward facing fans. But for outdoors you'll want to leave as many fans as you can intact to account for insect predation and nute fades the plant will likely encounter.
