First, apologies if this has been covered somewhere - I couldn't find it.

I have some 1 week old Auto Gelato seedlings that I started in 3gal fabric pots with a 70/30 Coco/Perlite mix, pre buffered with calcium.

(Next time I think I would go for 1gal pots, but too late obvs.)

At this stage of their life, should I be feeding to 10% runoff each time, or just feeding a little bit around the seedling?

I'm using the Canna Coco A+B at about 0.8 EC.

Thanks!

In 3 gal pots I would just water around the seedlings until they get bigger. No point in watering a bunch of coco without roots in it. And agreed, start in smaller pots next time.

And this won't lead to salt build-up in the coco?

You’re only doing it for a short while. Just until they are bigger and the roots have had time to grow. Maybe a week or two. Then start hitting the whole pot.

I guess if your only doing it for a short amount of time and then water to a higher runoff then you would normally, once the roots are established. Like 20% or something untill the runoff ec is closer to the input ec, i know that more runoff lowers the ec so i assume it would help with the salt buildup. I could be wrong but

do yourself a huge favor and don't obsess over runoff EC, particularly with such a small plant in such a massive pot

I figure for a small plant in a large pot, but i have my seedlings in solo cups even now, i wouldnt really be considering runoff ec for such small plants like u said. I was saying to water in the small part of the pot where the seedling is and then once the plant grows into the pot water with more runoff because of those builtup salts from watering a small area for such a large pot without runoff but it was in theory .
