Week 1 of flower on my best tent yet, and fed once with a top amendment at the start of flower. It says to feed every 10 days, but I can see a lot more light green than I’d like at the end of week 1. I flipped them on Nov 1, and wanted to know if you guys would feed more often, supplement synthetic nutrients (what I’ve used my other 2 grows), or stick with synthetic. Medium is FF ocean forest, all different strains from breeder Ethos, 450w LED mars hydro light.

Here is the top dress, and the synthetic nutrients are General Hydroponics flora series.

Well i often see this lighter green with early flower at the very tops. I know your thinking they maybe drawing too much N out that's what i feel also when i see this. Can you dial down the lamp to less than 100%? I did with mine and showed improvement at 60% then at 3wks into flower i started increasing it again now at 75% and 23" from canopy top of plants. My bloom food is Super Thrive it's got alittle bit of N in it. I also used Recharge 2x cause of yellowing all over. It did'nt help much but did'nt hurt LOL. I been feeding mine every watering give bloom but that's me. Mine are now over 30days in bloom and even in my smaller pots 3gal it's taking 5days almost to give water again.

New growth often is a lighter green. I believe N is still needed through the stretch, or about the first two weeks after the flip. After that, much less N is needed. The P & K becomes more important during flowering. Also watch for Mg deficiency. That's a good-looking grow, though, so I would worry much about it.

While it’s normal for the growing tips to be light green, yours appears to be overly so. Using a synthetic isn’t going to cause problems for your soil (unless in abundance) and I wouldn’t hesitate to use it. Especially if you haven’t added any microorganisms to your soil, in which case a good chance that your plants are not getting fed at all. If you want to stay organic Down to Earth has a line of “water soluble” organic ferts that are much quicker acting. But they still require that you have a living soil.

And of course it might not be nutrient related at all, so follow the other advice about light distance, temps and make sure you’re not overwatering.

Yep! Soil that's too wet can cause yellowed new growth. The cure is to let the soil dry, that is, water less frequently.

What did you recently top dress with and how much?
When did you feed prior to that? With what? How much?
How often do you water and how much?

Haven’t fed them before flipping to flower, they got 2 gal pots of fox farm happy frog, transplanted to 5 gal pots with ocean forest around 2-3 weeks ago. I fed the serving recommendation for established potted plants of the bloom the day I flipped to flower. Watering I try to wait until the leaves get a little limp so that I’m getting a good dry back and I can get around 6 gallons of water between the four before I start getting an excessive runoff.
