My friend told me to get this pot bc it’s better for the roots what do you guys think and how does it drain??

They’re good but you still don’t want the bottom of the pot on a flat surface.

You need (it) to be able to drain excess water out when you water your plant. If it’s on a flat it won’t drain so much as soak in its own runoff. That’s shitty shitty no good

Imo I’d get some slats to run across the plate and put the pot on that so the water can drain out into the plate
 
Fabric pots are great. I keep them on big trays and flood the trays. Its very convenient for me when there are multiple plants. Makes the watering very easy.
