Starting them sooner wouldn't change anything, the flowering cycle outside is controlled by the hours of darkness they have as the season extends into late October. As the days get shorter the darkness triggers flowering. I have three-foot-tall plants in full bloom that were started mid-July and it's now October 6. August 18th they pre flowered(pistils) and will be harvested in a couple of weeks.Thanks man I should have started them sooner, live and learn lol
