Nothing like bustin' your ass at a damn-near perfect crop for 3 months, only to have it hacked to trash by a bunch of retard trimmers. Picked out almost an ounce of rock-hard top cola nugs out of the "trim" pile, found about a half pound of trim in the rock-hard top cola nug pile....WTF? I have to pay these people? I'm pretty sure my dogs can trim better than this (and by dogs, I am referring to canines, just incase I have to clarify for the under-30 crowd).

I hear ya brotha. Hope it works out for ya. Let me know if I can help.

WTF that sucks bro

get ur own trimming machine dude

or even better, take the time to trim by (ur own) hand, the only way to be sure.

From what I understand... likely they can't read either, so don't have to worry on em lookin over here! ;-)

Tomo I'l give you the opposite problem... 1 oz every 45 min... take me a full day to get through that bow! Better just put me on head stash duty bro... mmmmm... where's that sour d???

Get a TRIM-PRO (or similar) you need one! They never get sick, they don't get too stoned, always ready when you need it. I do 16,000 with one helper, my machine, and 4 days... regular days, like 8 or 10 hours, not all nighters. :)

No thanks on the trim masheens...I still think hand-trimmed produces a better end product, IMO!

As far as trimming it myself...well, I got better shit to do than sit around for a week trimmin' 30 bows.....I'd rather be transplanting and dialing in my next round....

No thanks on machine-trimmed bud for me, too. I can understand if you're growing in the kind of volume that might make it not only feasible but tempting, but I can spot machine-trimmed buds a mile away. Then I look at them with the loupe, and it's very easy to understand why my hand-trimmed weed gets people so much higher than machine-trimmed.

Big problem is finding people who are at least reliable. I'd rather teach someone how I want the trimming done than have to work against someone with their own ideas. But first they have to show up!

My wife and I have hand trimmed numerous significant outdoor harvests by ourselves. It is a labor of love. I do understand though that some people don't enjoy this part. I just love growing, touching, smoking, smelling, feeling, cutting, holding and looking at pot plants 24/7. Think about the time the most addicted video game player you know spends playing games. Multiply by two and that is me with pot plants. LOL!

I am sorry this happened to you because I would feel like crap. Almost the same feeling when you go to your patch and it is gone. That is why I have to do it with just the wife and myself. Ultimate quality control.

I have much respect for all you hand trimming people, and I can attest that Mopho and Cannagirl grow some of the dankest weed around. I just feel like the machine is a tool, like an electric screwdriver, or a pnuematic hammer... you wouldn't build a house without power tools, would you? And, as for being able to tell it was done with a machine, first it's done with a machine, and then when it's dry it gets another little trim, a finish trim, if you will, so I don't know how the end product is any different than anyone else's....

the only person who i allow to help me hand trim is my wife she dont smoke and is a perfectionist and i dont gotta pay cash just shower her with love

the machine does decent on the small popcorn. i always tell my renters to hand do the tops.

Yep, at least 1/2 the plant get the hand trim.
The lower nuggies get popped off and run in through the Rotor. Cuts trimming time to about 1/3 without significant loss in quality.

It really depends on the structure and type buds though. Some plants get 90% hand trim.

Got to agree with Sea, my buds aren't going near a trim machine. I'm fanatical about my end product. I started training 2 new trimmers last week and so far they aren't bad. My one daughter wants to follow in my footsteps and take over the family business so she's trying to learn everything. She also wants to get a degree in business management. The other day she told me we need an Oaksterdam U type of set up here. Asked why I didn't get some friends together and give it a shot?

She sounds like a very intelligent young woman. A degree is a great way to get started and will put her head and shoulders above most others in the business.

And more importantly, is she single?

I kid.

Sorta.

trimming 30 bows is a nightmare!! one i'd love to have though!

I can comiserate with you as far as help is conserned. Flew my step bro out last week to help me out. Claimed he knew how to trim... well he didn't and he wasn't able to handle more than 2 hours in the chair at one time.

I concluded that I'd just as soon do it myself anyway so I'm sure it is done right. Trimming is one of the last and most important steps to a long process that we all take pride in. It is like putting your signiture on a painting. I want to make sure my product is represented in its best light.

Sure its hard work. I actually blew my neck out after 3 hard days of trimming. Spent new years pretty much incapasitated cause I couldn't even move my neck. Talk about irony...So stoked on my biggest and best harvest ever only to be in the worst pain of my life for the following 3 days. Happy to say I made full recovery. Sorry to say I'm still not done trimming though...I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now though!

It really depends on the structure and type buds though. Some plants get 90% hand trim.

..and if you prune your plants. I go japanese style on my ladies and mostly all the popcorn gets pruned off about 4-6 weeks from finishing, before it really has a chance to "develop". It makes for better quality nugs but I won't advise it if you have high humidity (bud rot).

Here's a SCROG right after I pruned it for the first time. It will probably get pruned 2 more times. cut that shit off before you have to trim it!
