Mr bong what size grow bags are you using in that pic? How far do you fill them up? I was reading an article about using a wide shallow bed for your root to help obtain stout bushier plants... Im interested??

those are the 3 gallon smart pots. I ususally try and leave a little room so I can top dress compost and earthworm castings as I go.

mrbong do you like the smart pots better than typical plastic gardening pots? Do they get all wet when you water your plants?

hedster44,
Yeah I do like the smart pots alot. They do get wet but it's not a problem usually. Water will start shooting out of the sides a little so I usually do a pulse type water where I give them some, let it soak in then give them more.
One of my favorite things about them is how easy it is to LST using the velcro tape.
Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for the quick response mrbong. I am definitely going to give them a try. It looks like you are getting good sized plants with the 3 gal. bags. Do you think the 5 gal. smart pots are overkill. I have been using 5 gal. gardening pots but looking to switch it up.

Depending on how long you veg and how big you want the plants to get. The 3 gal. are good for my set up but I did pick up a couple 5 gal to maybe use for mothers. I took a full 3 gal smart pot and dumped it into a 5 gal nursery pot and it was pretty much full. just fyi.

Here's some crappy pics of my current run. Day 47.
I may stop posting in this forum since I'm not a verified cut holder. You can find me in the organics forum.
Thanks for looking.

Right on man. I picked up some 3 gal. smart pots and a couple of the 5 gal. just to give them a shot. I'll definitely check out how that finishes up in the organics forum.

Not sure. I'd like to get them to 65 or so. I'll start checking trichs at 55 probably. The nuggs are so rock hard already it's crazy. I can't wait to see them in another 2 weeks.

Hey everyone, My Bong and I talked and I think we have similar cuts, but I'm wondering what everyone thinks. Check out my cannabis photography thread in my signature, I just posted pictures of Fire OG, Hindu Skunk and Green Crack.

Day 57

After battling high temps, low humidity and spider mites the girls are looking pretty haggard. I will try getting them through another week if I can.

Thanks ProdigyGrower
They're still sticky and stinky as hell so they should be cool. Cooler weather ahead too so that should help.

Thanks waayne,
If it's not one thing it's another it seems.
I had the shop vac out last night sucking mites off the tops of the nugs. It seems to work pretty good. Better than rubbing them with my fingers which was breaking the heads off some of the trichs.

Thanks Jeezer.
Here's some pics from tonight. Day 66. I might as well take them to 70. I'll probably try leaving them in the dark for a couple of days after 70 before chop.

Thanks Mister G
I'm looking forward to seeing how this run compares to previous. Yield is looking promising. Almost there.
