Hi all!
Happy to be apart of this community, I’ve always browsed forums for information.. learning from other people’s mistakes and questions and wisdom. This is the first time I’ve joined one myself and am looking forward to it!

When I started this grow I had no real plans, and no real intentions. I had bought an ounce of really well grown GG4 from my local weed maps. Towards the end of the bag I found one perfect, dark, tiger striped seed. (No pictures yet)

I, without hesitation, wet a piece of paper towel and folded that seed inside, in a Tupperware, under the kitchen sink. (It’s warm under there) A week goes by, I’ve completely forgotten the seed exists, I need some bleach from under the sink from some fish-keeping related stuff. Under the sink, in an extremely humid Tupperware, wrapped inside a paper towel is a 6 inch tap root, the cotyledons, and a the seed sitting at the base of the tap root. At this point I made the decision to start my perpetual grow.
I didn’t have anything but some miracle grow and a ceramic pot and one T8 6500k fluorescent tube. Nothing but fish water (about 20-30ppm nitrates)

Will make this up to date by the end of today, lots to cover, it’s a ride I promise! For now I’m off to give the baby a bottle.

First post pictures were days 2,3,8, and 9

I continued watering with my Cichlid tanks water for quite some time, didn’t PH it, didn’t even know that was a thing!

Over the next ten days growth became quicker and on day 18 I topped it (just pinched the 5th node out before it really even pushed out)
Unbeknownst to me this was around the time nutrient issues to show. Lightening of the leaf tips, and discolouring of the veins.
1/23/20-2/1/20

this is where I pinched the newest growth out.

2/4/20-2/4/20

internode branches started to grow more rapidly
Tied main stall to edge of pot to promote lower branches getting light. (Weak fluorescent tube about 1 inch from top)
Began training branches everyday by manually bending. As low stress as I could.
Really filling out.

From Feb 11 to Feb 27 I struggled with what I came to the conclusion of being over-watering. I had watered my plant in the clay pot almost every day (drainage wasn’t great and my soil was worse) When I transplanted the plant I acknowledged that although root bound in the bottom half the top half of medium and root mass was nearly all rotted. I bought a 10” plastic planter and transplanted it, following typical transplanting advice I watered thoroughly.
During this time I also learned about nutrient lockout, burn, and PHing your water.
I realized I needed to take this seriously or not do it at all.

this is the plant on 2/27/20
I had switched to a diy 6x23 watt CFL fixture and bought a fan aswell.

3/6/20 acquired a 4x3 2in1 grow tent by vivosun
3/10/20
Looking like magnesium or sulfur deficiency, according to my research. Again I was just in the middle of correcting my PH issues.
at this time I had just taken the first picture of some random bag seed plants I started growing under the fluorescent tube.

On March 13 I went to my local Canadian Tire and picked up Root Farm soilless potting mix, and my order from Amazon of fabric pots came in. 5 3 gallon and 5 1 gallon pots.
I transplanted the GG4 and “1-5” into the 3 gallon pots, but plant “5” got stuck in a 1 gallon pot as it was the runt.

On March 20 Gorilla Glue showed me her gender :)

As my intentions of a perpetual grow were clear to me at this time I took 4 clones of GG and one of each of the bagseeds.
Cut 3/19/20

Day 13 flower.
Day 13 was bitter sweet. Of the 5 random bagseeds 1 was male and 3 showed as hermies. Although this was a blow on my initial grows potential yield, it’s allowing me to focus on the GG4 and just one other plant.
Everything is really stretch

Day 14- 3/2/20

Final LST? Figured I’m just at the edge of too late to be doing this but wanted that even canopy, thinking about a Scrog next cycle? What do you think?

day 15- up to date 3/3/20
The spread on this girl is almost 3ft

This bag seed is looking decent, I’m happy with it but likely won’t continue it’s genes unless the smoke is fire!

GG clones 14 days from cut 7 days since transplant.

slight yellowing.. watered yesterday, PH’d 1/4 dose of root farm nutrients. Light stress or are they seeking nutrients? 6”pot roots started poking out a couple days ago.

Taken 20 minutes ago, I’m so excited!
Excited for these girls to start bulking, excited to learn more, and excited to be able to share and document the whole experience in this lovely forum.

Welcome.... Show some of your cichlids off! They are awesome... I only have marine tanks now, but cichlids are what got me into reefing and everytime I see a cichlid tank I get tempted to run one with some potted plants or something

It’s a South American cichlid tank so not quite all the bright colours of an African tank. I’ve since reduced it to the two jack dempseys pictured and a Green Terror. As well as the loaches.

It’s crazy what can happen in 4 days
Watching these plants develop has been so satisfying.

Just picked up some Advanced Nutrients Big Bud, and will be dosing until the end of week 5, given a roughly nine week flower. Hoping to beef these girls up a bit.

One week later at day 33, not a lot has changed everything just starting to put on weight. Buds are swaying in the wind.

The odd ball plant is looking delicious, glad I kept it going with a clone. Buds are dense little golf balls.
