AppreciatedWelcome to the farm, I started out the same way, lot to learn here, enjoy,Cheers SS
Welcome to the farm. The rabbit hole is deeper than you think. You've started the fall but there's a long way to go.......it all starts with a few seeds, then lights, & fans then all hell breaks out and you get a few tools..ph tester....ppm meter.....laser temp gun.....humidifiers.....dehues......another light for veg.....wet vac......humidity temp gauges....inkbird controllers.....a radiant heater for winter growing....timers... magnifying glasses....microscope camera.....brix tool.......hair nets.....droppers........fabric pots......trivets...tray.....maybe CO2...lol.....I'm sure I've missed a bunch but you get the idea of how deep it can go....So i fell down the rabbit hole a few months ago... you know how it goes. "Oh i need this" "oh no, now i need this to support this" "hmmm how can i make it better?"
Yeah so anyway. I threw 4 jagg kush seeds into germinate a few months ago, between some damp paper towel, and hid it away in a dark spot. Of course i forgot i had out these seeds away to germinate, remembering a week later and finally checking. All of them had popped, 1 had a significantly larger taproot than the other 2, and the 4th one had only just popped from its seed. Quickly planted them into small pots, and designed some janky ass looking box lined with foil and sat them in there under some cheap led grow lights.
Quickly realised this small box now housing 3 seedlings, was no way going to be capable of housing 3 fully grown plants.
Given these details, a few weeks down the track i now have a 1.5Mx1.5Mx2M tent 2x 1000w Viparspectra LEDs, 350cfm exhaust fan, multiple oscillating fans, a heater, a humidifier.
Im going into week 3 of flower now, im down to one plant. Accidently killed a seedling early on in its life, dropped a temp monitor on it very young and snapped it. And one ended up being male.
This is the girl as she stands today, and some pictures of where it started
Welcome
Cheers homie, Appreciated!Welcome to the farm @Xelinate
Yeah so it seems as though I've really only dipped a quarter of a way down the rabbit hole. But im down there now, im a 99% chance to fall deeper, and i look forward to every second of it!Welcome to the farm. The rabbit hole is deeper than you think. Can definitely feel that my man, ive pulled 8 clones off this plant and im keen to get them going aswell! Yeah should've researched a little harder when i first bought lights! I did research into the true draw of them comparably to HPS/MH Thats why I'm running two of them hahaha. Asides from white full spectrum being the better spectrum, i also truly dislike inspecting the plants under the blurple lights, taking photos under the blurple never gives me the results im looking for either. Will have to invest in some better lights next growOnce it starts there's no stopping it bro haha, if you're like most then now you're just going to want to get better and better and grow bigger plants and get better yields and just overall grow better flower and it's a long road for sure lol. But it's a fun one and it keeps me sane most of the time haha. Looking good though man! Just keep at it and do your research. I'm assuming you're running the older blurple Viparspectra's based off the pics so they're around 220 true watts or something like if you didn't know. That's one thing you'll learn about the Ebay and Amazon lights is that they call them "800 watts or 1000 watts", but you gotta look for the TRUE wattage and you'll see what they're really pulling. Word of advice and I'm not hating at all or anything, I started with some blurples a long time ago too when LED's first hit the market, but when or if you ever upgrade don't get those again and get some full spectrum white light LED's. You'll see much better results. But anyways good luck with everything bro and again looking good man!
Never saw your reply when you made it sorry bro!Nice bro! So did you setup a perpetual grow? Or did you just take the clones to try and keep alive to run again haha? I have a full perpetual grow so that's why I'm asking. If you plan on doing it long term it's much more efficient in everyway honestly. I always keep 3 mother plants of each strain and 3 to 5 different strains on hand. I have a 10x10 flower tent so I run a lot of plants every run so it saves me from having to buy clones which I don't even like doing anyways because 9 times out of 10 they have bugs and just aren't up to par with how I do things. PLUS I don't have to buy seeds either and then wait for them to pop and grow. I just take my cuttings and let root for 10 days then throw them in my veg tent. But yea there's a bunch of reason I don't like the blurple lights, not only because they're lower wattage and all that, but like you said it SUCKS working under them and taking videos and pictures. But more importantly it's just hard to see things on the plants and if there's any issues. I ended up running into problems my first couple of runs with those because I couldn't see the plants clearly and missed that I had a deficiency and the plants were yellow and different colors smh so make sure you watch out for that! I ended up getting a head lamp off amazon so when I was in there doing all the training and just checking over the plants I would use that so I could actually see the color of the plants and just see them better overall. But again good luck bro and I wish you the best!
