Greetings,

This is my first grow ever. After 6 months of research and lurking different forums I have finally taken the plunge. Before I decide to invest a lot of money I wanted to start small...

My setup:

  • Strain: Lowryder 2 x AK47
  • Lights: 2 x 85watt CFL 6500k for veg, 2 x 85w CFL 3000k for flower. I may add a supplemental CFL later.
  • Cycle: 20/4
  • Pots: 3 gallon
  • Soil: mix of 75% fox farms ocean forst / 25% light warrior
  • Nutes: Bio Boost and Bio Flores
  • Water: Distilled water at 6.5 PH

I am growing in my walk in closet with 2 reflector clamp-on light fixtures and an oscillating tower fan. I bought a 5 pack of Lowryder 2 x AK47 seeds and only 2 germinated. Bummer. Plant #1 is 39 Days old. I had to cut the first set of leaves as I had the light a bit too close but she recovered nicely and seems to be very happy.

Plant #2 is about 20 days old and is starting to show signs of flowering. I have not yet started to give any Bio Flores. I was thinking of starting a diluted solution this week for Plant #1.

Right on! Looking good. I would go ahead and remove the lower branches or budsites as they will produce little to no bud. Actually do that next time since it looks like your plant is finishing her life cycle. By removing the lower branches you will allow more energy to go to the top of the plant resulting in a better yiled of quality medicine

Thanks for the tip. I actually was quite surprised at how fast these started to flower. Because they were small I was afraid to trim them... I wont be doing Auto's next grow so I will have more control over the veg cycle.

And wow.. I see you are growing some Lowryder 2's. Yours are much bigger than mine. Do you think mine are so small because of genetics or is it my CFLs or feeding perhaps?

I see you are are also using Foxfarms organic soil. With your LR2's how soon did you start giving nutes? Thanks in advanced.

Help!

So about 6 days ago I got around to giving the girls diluted ferts. I gave them 50% strength bio flores. Plant #2 is doing fantastic. Plant #1 is showing signs of stress. Yellowing and dropping fan leaves.

Plant #1 has about 14 days left before harvest. I read that mature plants naturally molt their leaves.. could this be molting, nute burn or something else? I may have over-watered a bit.

What should I do to help alleviate the problem? I am using 3 gallon pots. Should I flush with 6 gallons of ph'd water?

Quick Update

Yesterday I flushed plant #1 with 5 gallons of ph 6.7 distilled water. End run-off was clear and a ph of 6.7. I will harvest in 10-14 days when trichs are cloudy... assuming everything goes alright.

I also started Plant #2 on bio-boost. I did not use bio-boost for plant #1 so I can do a little taste comparison later.

nice job! The flush should help you out with your nute problem. Glad to see your post on the auto's, I just started 3 beans (Fem Roadrunners) last night, about to put em in rockwool shortly, so I am anxious to see your results!

Thanks rhead. I clearly made some mistakes with plant #1 so the yield isnt going to be the best. The flush definitley helped though.. she is bouncing back nicely. Few more days to go until harvest! I need to go order a scale...

Stay tuned for more pics this weekend.

cool.. Ill be waiting for your results! How do you feel about your lighting setup, enough light with the cfl? Cuz I bought 2 feliz 125w 3000k for side light today. 2 of 3 roadrunners popped n are in wool, my countdown will soon begin! :)

I wish I had gone wih the 100+ watt bulbs. As you can see mine are doing just fine with the lower wattage so I would say 125watts is more than enough. Just make sure you have good, constant airflow.

Btw

I thought I would mention that the plant does not give off too much of an aroma... so another bonus for stealth. However, if you give it an oh-so gentle squeeze and smell the resin on your fingeres, you get a powerful dose of her smell which is very fruity with a dash of spice. Very sativa like in smell. Puts a smile on your face. :rasta2:

guess i need more food?or light .i want big buds bud!

looking good kid i hope my bud turns out like that!

Goat, that plant is looking pretty healthy. Interesting setup. How much verticle space is there for growth?

Harvest Pics

:harvest: Harvest time for Plant #1. She's a whopping 10.3 grams... Lol :)
