Happy Thanksgiving man!

Right now i have somewhat of a jerry rigged setup. I have this "octopus" lamp that has 5 arms coming off of it. Right now i have the small Jiffy seed tray covered by 3 CFLs, 2 are 5700K 100watt equivalent bulbs and the other is a 5700K 60watt equiv. Because i ran out of the 5700K bulbs, i found some 3000K bulbs (60watt equiv i think) and used 2 of those to shine on my beer cup seedlings. They JUST broke the surface so i think that little amount of light should be fine.

The bigger ones in the Jiffy tray also have a mylar blanket around them to reflect as much light back in. The lights are about 3 inches from the tops of the pants right now, but much further on the beer cup ones.

Moved all the seedlings into beer cups since the roots were starting to poke out the side of alot of the pucks. Also moved everything under my LED in the tent. Having a hell of a time getting the temp were I want it will probably have to go pick up a heat controller since the heater isint turning off like it should and over heating.

My best seedling had yellow at the tips of the leaves not sure what that is about, heard it could be too much water or nute lock from the soil. Pics when I get a chance to upload.

LEDs are about 20 inches from plants. Just got done getting the heater to work and replanting most of the seedlings. There were a few that still didn't pop or were junk so I tossed them. Already have more than enough at this point.

Seedlings made it thru the night. Lowest temp was 70, highest 80 (although i don't think it got as low as 70 since this thermometer is not the best). Humidity seems to be holding around 30%. If it becomes an issue will have to supplement with a humidifier or try running my cloning tray with the top open and see if the misters in that will help. Will hopefully pick up a proper heat controller today so i can keep a more consistent temp, the heater thermostat sucks on my bigger heater and the smaller one just runs forever and would over heat the tent.

Forgot to mention previously that i have my exhaust run for 15mins every 2 hours to keep fresh air in the room. Once the seedlings get a little bigger i will put a fan on them on a low setting.

Had to save a few more seedlings by picking that seed coating crap off the leaves. Almost all have popped and are doing well pics to follow.

The seeds I planted in the beer cups are also starting to pop up. Running out of space with my current rigged up light setting so will have to move all these under the LED soon in my tent.

How far should I keep the LED from the seedlings so I don't fry them? 450watt LED with 280watt actual draw, link in first post.

Also, how soon can I transplant those jiffy pucks into some better soil in beer cups? I'm thinking about doing it now for the bigger seedlings that already have leaves.

18-24" inches should be fine. If you really don't want to burn them go 36". I run a 400w Mars II led during veg and both 400w led and 600w hps during bloom. Good luck bro.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I think im gonna keep the lights around 18-20" unless i see a reason to change that. Just got my temp controller so i can make sure my room stays where i want it. I'm also going to switch to 18/6 light from now on unless anyone thinks that's a bad idea. Will save a few bucks on power :)

Started a new thread for my seedling issues to keep it contained in one place: https://www.thcfarmer.com/community/threads/yellow-tips-on-seedlings.68381/

Hopefully i can get this issue sorted out soon and watch these babies grow!!!! :)

After alot of reading and talking to people who grow, I'm fairly certain my issues are related to over-watering and/or pH being too high. I have another thread going to figure out my water pH, i think its around 7-8 right now so i need to lower it a good amount. I have also attached a pic of one of the seedlings i lost, the stalk kinda stretched out in the middle and then the plant fell over. A couple others look like they are curled up and crunchy, will slowly weed them out over the new few days i want to give them a chance to come back to life....

Soil was really dry up to second knuckle on finger, so i adjusted my water pH and then watered them all. Also raised the light up to 24" since a friend of mine using the same lights was having issues with his lights being too close. The really exploded last night!

Labeled my top 16 plants. Hopefully I can pull at least 8 nice females from all the plants. They are doing soooo much better now that I corrected my pH. 2 set of leaves of my top few plants already have 3 leafs coming out, think that is a good sign. Just raised my light a little as well up to 28 inches from 24.

Well well... Plants are loving the LED light and the environment in the tent it looks like. Moved the best 16 into some bigger 6" square pots yesterday. One of them didn't do so well so I just ripped it out and popped in one of the extras I still have in red cups you will see off to the side.

Current plan is to clone these within the next week, then flower either the parents or clones and wait to find out which ones to kill. Could use some advice here.

Plants range from 5" to 7". Light is about 28" away from canopy. Room temp kept around 77-80 during lights on and around 70 lights off.

Still trying to get the hang of watering, they currently look to be a little over watered from when I repotted them but the soil was bone dry so I had to wet it good.

I'd delay taking cuttings. I can't see where you could get a cutting from in the next week.
Maybe let them get big enough to clone a topping.?
Still need to sex them, right?

Tip: weigh the pots. Makes dosing water easy.
A kilo gram of water is one liter.

I don't see anything wrong with your setup and I'm looking forward to watching you pull off some fine flowers.
And you have the excitement of watching for nanners. (mixed batch of bag seed can be challenging.)

I agree i'd take cuts in 2 to 3 weeks from now, judging size.
And as far flowering out clones or mom's it's really up to you, I'd flower mom's only because there ready sooner imo, but have seen both ways work fine. Looking good bro
