I'm using grow dots and it says I shouldn't add anything but I've been really thinking about adding some Alaska more bloom. 0-10-10. You have any experience with this fertilizer. I've seen it at walmart but haven't pulled the trigger and bought it plus don't wanna over feed with the slow release food I gave them

Morbloom 0-10-10 is a fine source of P & K but be forewarned, they use phosphoric acid as a stabilizer so you really want to check your pH value after mixing it in to make sure you're not too acidic. You can practically determine how strong your feeding is with just a pH pen.

If you're going with Grow Dots I'd just stick with it. Anything you try and throw in will likely just interfere with the time release stuff. You went with a "set and forget," so just go ahead and forget. Focus on your watering and environment instead and let the dots do their thing. You don't have the same control but it should work out fine.

Wait until someone else chimes in because im not sure, Im just speculating. Also people will ask you: light model, potency, distance from the plants, growing medium and what nutes how often.

last Saturday it was under 1100 now this morning runoff after flushing 3 times is still this high. Maybe the cause of yellow and rust spots?

I didn't realize you were using grow dots with just water. I'm not familiar with their use and best watering practices.

That makes me think even more that youre overdoing the calmag. Your tap water has calmag, the grow dots have calmag and youre adding more calmag in liquid form. Over use of calmag can lead to nutrient lockout and if the EC in the soil is rising instead of going down makes me think that. You used the recommended dosage of grow dots right? If so, that shouldnt happen.

So makes sense need to stop calmag and hopefully will see a difference

Fingers crossed! Its all I could come up with that makes sense, but I cant know for sure. Keep us updated and maybe someone else will appear with more input.

I wad looking into getting r/o . Seems fairly reasonably priced and easy to install.

Ace hardware has a tap adapter. Every kit I saw had one of those pierce the water pipe things.
F that. Unscrew the cold tap at the washer install tap run to filter.
And a 32 gallon plastic garbage can with lid.
Next upgrade is a water dispenser and pump. Right now I am filling milk gallon jugs.

I'm starting to wonder if coco is for me. Seems like every time I water something else pops up and with not much time in the AM hours I'm always rushing. It didn't seem too bad in veg but now flipped to flower stuff Seems to keep going bad. Wanted to hand water this morning just to check numbers instead of letting the drip water for me. Ph in was 6.1 and the flush was at 5.2 to 5.4. Only had 5 gallons of water and not enough time. Used up all the water on 4 plants and ph was still low in flush. I like to let the tap water sit for 24 hrs so whatever chemicals are in might evaporate. Should I have just used the tap water without letting it sit to continue to flush, and what would make the ph drop like that?

Did you exceed the recommended dosage of grow dots? If so that might be it. The PH of the water can also change the PH of the coco but if you were watering with 7ph is weird. You didnt use anything besides calmag and grow dots right? Is the calmag organic? If so, check if it has fermented.

As for the chlorides in the water, you should ideally let them evaporate and having coco close to 5 is not that big of a deal, I wouldnt rush flushing with a bunch of chlorides, let it sit for 1 day like you said. It might be the case that the more that you water the more acidic itll get, if thats the case its definetely the grow dots unless you used something else with the coco. That was it right?

Followed recommended dose of grow dots that it said on bag. And it is calmag plus from botanicare. The ph Going in was 6.1. I will give it a couple days and water again. Just straight water.

Any thoughts on these plants? Can't seem to get them back up to par. Week 4 in flower growing in coco with grow dots. Hard tap water and little cal mag every other watering. The one seems to be changing colors already maybe norm I don't know.
