You have a fabric pot which is what I use. What I did was go around the top lip of the pot with a hole punch and place a hole every 2 inches or so, so I always have a good angle to tie a branch down.

I use pipe cleaners to hold branches down. Easy to bend into shape and the fuzz prevents cutting into the branch (to a degree).

Looks good to me. I start a little later and get rid of future unproductive growth.

When the plant is small, yes the counterforce on the pot is inward toward the stem. But as the plant and branches get bigger you will start pulling down and the pot won't fold in.

With fabric pots I use assorted sizes of binder clips as my anchor. They hold very well until they don't. Why put holes into your fabric pots when you don't have to? I did the grommet game for a bit but the binder clips are stupid easy and don't cause weak points in your fabric pots. Walmarts has large quantity boxes(50 count) for 3-5 bucks, if not less. Your first lst looks good to me.

Awww dude this is definetly the way to go I actually cut the strings off and reversed my lst so I can go and get some binder clips today hahaha to avoid all the holes in the pots. Should I wait a week or two before doing it again or is she ready ?
