Looks normal IMO.
First time cloner [ so no guarantee on my info but here you go ].
On day 10 in my DIY aeroponic cloner and I have roots on 75% today . Pump for spray runs 24/7 my temps are a little higher .
I added some rooting hormone to water in the beginning and just added a very little fert yesterday.
No fan in tent besides temp control [ AC Infinity ] .
I believe the words I read from I think Mysticepipedon was the most comforting for me .
He said most clones look like shit before they are ready [ or something I translated to that effect] .
So for me 2 days after the clones look the worse they have I have roots !

Day I cut them .

7 days old .

try giving a little less light. 4 day old, unrooted clones should not be droopy, IMHO.

You might have left too much leaf on them.

I agree !
Not knowing much but knowing the plant will loose moisture through surface area I clipped the 'sacrificial ' leaves pretty good .
That is also why no circulation fan in tent .

Hello my name is David and this will be my second attempt at cloning. Has anyone ever tryed using foxfarm as a rooting agent. I also heard of using honey any help in this manner would be greatfull. First attempt didn't work out so well. One last question how long does it take for a clone to root round about thanks again for your time

Klosset,

Keep your money. All you need is G3, Gibberellic acid, 5gm, $17. The bottle will outlive you. That other stuff is formulated with nonsense and put in a pretty package to justify an exorbitant price.

Oh, it works. I use it all the time. Never fail. all you do is dip the cutting into the powder and stick the cutting in the soil or growth medium.

I'm using soil right now hopefully getting ready to try my hand in hydroponics real soon. Do they sell a gel I heard the gel is better more of a deal and bonding I guess might give it a try with one and get some clone x. 7 are in flower right now. This is my little closet set up right now growing on a hand me down budget lol.

The powder works fine. Adding gel gives the manufacturers another sku to sell the same thing, but now "better" at a higher price. It works great for them. And, in a gel formulation they get to short date it because gels dry out. Now you need to buy more. GA3 is a plant hormone. Its effective at around 1E-9M. In other words, the plant needs to see a molecule or two to have an effect. No gel is going to make that treatment more effective.

That makes sense but I was saying the gel might be better because I feel like the gel would seal the air out of it versus the word powder could still leave a my nude hole for air to go through the stem and then kill it but I don't know cloning is not my thing I just now learning it I'm really trying to work on getting the stems thicker.

Klosset,
When you cut a stem the plant continues to draw water (transpire) up the stem via the water conducting elements, xylem. By doing this the pant draws air into the xylem. When you put the cut stem back It water it cannot draw more water because the air bubble introduced. Damage done. It isn’t a question of creating a “hole” these are herbaceous plants not woody like an Oak. Although I am amazed at the fiber structure in cannabis. Point is the plant can draw water laterally. Especially true with fresh new tissue. This is precisely the reason why a stem being vegetatively propagated is incubated with some tent or cover over the leaves. That is done to reduce the water gradient between the leaf and atmosphere, reduces stress on the plant - no water shortage while roots are being formed stimulated by G3.

Last point, make sure you are rooting in a good organic matter medium, rich and dark. You want a medium that can hold water. Avoid lots of vermiculite.

In the spring I’ll buy a couple of 10” pots filled with basil. I the cut each apical stem dip the cut ends in G3 powder and stick that in some rooting medium. Never had problem. Loads of basil.

You gotsta do what let’s you sleep at night. But the gel is not helping you propagate successfully.

Zill.
