I mean in all seriousness I appreciate your input lol, don’t know how well shit translates over text. I’ve gotten decently far though, don’t wanna stop now.

Like the first post in this thread, I wanna show other first time growers that even with doing it ‘wrong’ you can still get somewhere.

Maybe next grow I’ll throw some cement mix into my soil

of course, especially with the clay I’m using. Sticky shit. That’s why I wanted to do perlite and coco coir. I’ve used perlite and rice hulls on my other girls and it’s worked well

I agree lol I spent too much damn money on soil and amendments, trying to make my natural dirt work in the mix.

I live in a big area, grandparent have a 100 acre ranch like five miles down the road, so the dirt is farmable. Just needs some convincing.

Like me when @Oldchucky is trying to save me from myself lmao

Whatever works man! You learn a little more every grow! Just keep your mind open! But as an aside, it’s generally not considered a good idea to mix mediums! Pick one or the other! Just two cents!

Clay isn't soil. It's gunk.

And back in the day when we were digging holes and planting! We would put all our amended shit in and then put 50% of the native clay or whatever and mix it back in! It gave the plant something to hold onto! Nothing wrong with Clay if you use it properly!

I mean a huge portion of the world produce comes from my area. And it’s all clay. Valley used to be the bottom of a river bed.

I never seen gunk grow so many plants lmao

I use foxfarm ocean and frog. 40 % 40 % , and 10 % miracle gro. I use ocean for its instant minerals, and frog for a continuous growing application. And, I threw miracle gro in for good luck. So, it depends on what you mix.

I don't see any use for it except using to hold poles in the ground.

Okay I tried to fact check this and didn’t have much luck but I’m right until someone proves otherwise

Enjoy your clay. I don't think the real farm belts, in the midwest would agree with you.

Outdoors your soil need some body to it! Otherwise, your plants will just Uproot when you play with them! Clay provides that, and other nutrients also! You have to remember that outdoors we are using real sunlight and growing real plants! Not using plastic sunlight, and growing Toy Plants! That oughta raise a few hackles! Lol! Have paddle will Travel!
