This one is getting bulky and hairy but I have NO IDEA when it actually started flowering. Hawkward.

Ironically, I transplanted sunflowers in this bed and they died. When they died the seeds I planted sprouted. Interesting.

I'd tell you sunflowers hate being moved unless you can do without disturbing the roots at all, but I'm afraid with that information, you'll try to now transplant the new ones.

I found that out after I transplanted them

I had a whole starter tray, like 80 of them. The half I planted in ground and watered with great white are doing great. The others not so much lol

I also stated beets and carrots in trays which I now realize was a bad idea

I don't start any root vegetables anywhere, but the ground. They absolutely hate it too. Direct sow all that stuff. If you find animals digging up your seeds, cover with an old screen with the frame. That's what I've been doing to keep the animals out of my stuff. Once they sprout, I uncover them.

Carrots don't need light to germinate either. If you find they aren't germinating well, I've seen people cover them with a board.

opened her up all the way today. wanted to stir the shit in the deep dark corners lol

finding a lot of what looks like soil chunks, which I’m hoping is a sign the compost is composting. It’s looks more broken down. Not sure if it’s from me stabbing it every week or composting. Time will tell.

Big girls looking good.

Not you stressing a plant that can't take stress. I'm shocked.
