I’ve always kind of wondered why these chuckers don’t start with land race! At least you have some kind of a clean pallet! Instead of two plants that have been across 100 times! But oh well! I think there is a certain fear associated with them!

Prepping the dry space! Wash bins cleaned, racks set up, thermometers in place.

Got some scissors, some bins, no patience.

Okay so dry room is hot. We have the actual temp; the temp outside my garage, the temp in my garage; then the temp in the dry space.

I got a herb rack thing that is WAY TOO BIG and the little fan that could.

put 90% shade cloth over the window and door way. I don’t know what 90% shade is supposed to look like but it seems a bit bright

so I’ve read about light affecting the hay smell? Nobody wants that.

Yeah, it’s a bit of a conundrum! If you put a portable AC in there to cool it down, then the humidity will drop! I use a window air conditioner! It will keep 60° But the humidity won’t go over 45! I thought about a humidifier, But it seems like it and the AC would just be fighting each other! But it works pretty good in the end at 60 and 45! Can usually get it to six or seven days! And I think a lot of the shortcomings in the drying can be remedied by a long cure! You just want don’t want to overdry if you can help it!

Fair, I’m trying to avoid buying another thing lol. I haven’t opened the window yet simply cuz it’s so damn hot outside.

I can put in a bigger better placed fan. Ill
mess with it

That’s all you can do! Kind of fly by the seat of your pants! Get it as dark as you can! But it’s only gonna be hanging in there for a week or less! I don’t think that’s a huge deal! As long as it’s indirect light!

I opened my window and my humidity went up over 20 points. I had to close it as the day heated up. It has retained the humidity and I'm sitting at 60% now. Was at 41% before.

Yeah, but you’re probably at 80% outside! We are at 30 or less! Right now my humidity outside is 18%! And 97°! Just have to play with it!

I put the thermometers up outside to see if it would be worth opening up but I think it would be counter productive

Yes, 91% last night. 87% this morning. It is just now heading downward. I'm sitting at 72% now. 18% humidity is unheard of where I am.

I did add bowls of water before opening the window. It helped some but not much.

You won’t screw it up! It’s not that hard! Especially with kind of low humidity! But a lot of times you are chopping different stuff at different times! So you have to keep track of when it was hung up! How long it’s been hung! If you get my drift! If you can figure out a way to mark, each batch and Actually keep records, It can help a little! I am one of those, oh, i will remember , Dip, shits! Then it’s all by feel! Which ain’t rocket science!

You are in the craft room. Use different color pipe cleaners to mark each batch. Just don't forget to make a key.

I was alarmed all summer when it wasn't off the charts. Odd year of weather I've had.

Sounds familiar lmao, I think I remember everything saw a video where she put scotch tape on each hanger she used to dry, and was able to label the date and strain on it.

Luckily my wife is helping because I am not organized
