Hello folks, first time grower and very excited to begin the journey. Starting with two layered lemon cake plants.

Outside grow and they’re starting out pretty well. I’ve read a bunch of articles and YouTube videos on topping, but uncertain where to make the cuts on each of these plans. Any advice would be welcomed! Looking to cultivate lower denser plant.

If you're just trying to make a low and bushy plant, instead of stressing them by taking a top away, you can tie branches down when they get lanky enough and then the nodes along the branch will give you lateral growth. The growth energy of the branch will be distributed somewhat evenly across the new incoming tops.

Looks good. They’ll start bending up at the stakes probably by this afternoon. Once they grow a few inches, tie them down again and so on. Till you’re happy with how spread out it is.

Hello all, had a follow up question. Here a couple pictures of the plant today. Was wondering whether I should be topping any growth or just leave as is at this point. Thanks again.

Be very careful bringing stuff in from outdoor. I did that once, and brought spider mites along.

Filling out quickly. Week 7 in veg. Have been low stress training. Should I let them grow vertically now? Flip after week 10?

Thanks. Will cola’s keep forming after I flip?
Would flowering be around 8 weeks?

Yes whatever height your at at the start of flowering .. expect it to maybe double .. some strains more .

Flipped almost two weeks ago. When buds start forming is there a point that I may need to support the stems, or just let them carry the weight on their own?

Supporting the stems is a judgement call for each grow. Tieing down and moving out with good spacing allows the plant to develop stems big enough to support the flower. A drag the plant in one direction training where you keep moving the stems horizontal can sometimes leave the plant with the stems that will not support large buds.
You can support with bamboo in the pots tieing them up or a trellis above the plant wiring them up. I have done both.
