The training seems to be helping a lot. Fat based stems, lots of nice colour. The top two shoots have grow their first set of leaves, they look weird, so I’m going to let them grow their next pair and then snip the deformed leaves off. They just grew weird because of clutter before I had ties. Pumped!! 7 weeks to go, and the 12 weeks of veg I’m going for will be done!

Tied down the top growths. Been adjusting the wiring every 2 days by just a pinch.

Should I remove some of the other big fan leaves, the one that come from the main stock? The last three pics are the ones, I’m talking about. I have 4 huge ones that have massive growths above them. They are kinda in between alot of things and are being grown between as well. Let me know fellas

If you have 7 weeks to go, do all you need to as long as she is 100% healthy and everything else is optimal.

During my 17 week veg: I fed a light veg feed for about 8 weeks. Then I pumped it up to a medium veg feed. About 4 weeks later I shoved an aggressive veg feed. Upon the late veg feed which was 1250ppm she stretched about 4” in a few days until she reached just below the lights and she stopped for the last 3 weeks and bushed out with minimal growth. The major increased nitrogen and probably bloom in the aggressive feed, I think spring her into thinking it was flower time soon and so she made that push to the light. It scared me thinking she was going to force me to move out of the tent and I was flowering in the room the tent was in . She stayed that height until I took her out though 4 weeks later.

But! Her 3 gallon hydro bucket was too small for the roots and she was eating every drop by 24 hours after aggressive nute switch. Drought stress could have played a part in her slowing down or stopping.

This long veg I added 2 things I wasn’t using for my last run. Silica from the beginning and Sugars which I didn’t add until early flower nutrients switch. But, I believe the Silica saved her as she showed no major stress other than some deformation of the leaves, the roots were binding.

After transplant to a much bigger container and another week+ a few days new growth was solid and roots spread wild. Imagine all these roots in your soil pot and consider how much space you’ll need if you want a massive girl that will keep going.

Stretch could stop for various reasons and root bound could be one of those things that keeps her from running wild on the stretch, root zone availability. So consider the end pot size to your goals. Root bound will cause wonky leaf growth and deformation along with slowed or stunted growth, if left that way can kill the plant. I have some older leafs that have half a blade from the locking up.

4th week of flower started and she has 5x the root mass from when I transplanted her to the bigger container. But she is 5x bigger now also with the ability to grow roots freely in the space. Long veg, make sure she has adequate root space availability before she balls up in your pots. So don’t freak out if you see deformed leaves, but consider it may be due to becoming root bound and leaf deformation could be a signal to starting to bind.

Every foliage you cut and every growth has a root system grown with it. When you prune/cut any growth, the plant looks more slim up top but roots keep growing. So root mass is a total of all top growth regardless of how much you’ve cut and slimmed her down. She has already made roots for that growth.

I could have just said to save a week or so of veg for her recovery from a final transplant to the desired pot size. Try to allow the pot size to be appropriate for the veg time and roots that have formed already and that she needs a lot more space even after flower push.

There are 5 root balls in that tub. Original in the center and 4 more formed around each air stone.

Size of your plant and ever smooth healthy growth is going to depend a lot on her pot size, a lot.

I think it is critical. In the last run of 4 cuttings I did, they balled up in the 5 gallon buckets towards the end. They didn’t consume all the space but because I vegged them for 8 ish weeks, they could have used 10 gallon buckets and yield could have been better with more stacking toward the end for bigger buds. Because their roots were binding I believe that I could have had 2x the yields had I used a bigger container. But then the question, would they have stretched harder and made me regret it with height restrictions? Maybe.

The second pic is a shot of the top of the main stem, where I topped it essentially. That was 5 days ago, so not sure what I should expect.

You've already lollipoped/topped, obviously not a rookie. What exactly are you asking?

If I should remove the large fan leaves that are connected to the main stem. I’m not experienced, literally my first plant ever. Just wanted to make sure it was going to live.

I have it in a 5 gallon pot. I was concerned about the pot size being too small, but I figured 5 gallon is decently large. I was considering starting flower in 4 weeks, just because she’s been growing for months now. Just a shrub like plant hahah. Just don’t want to get root bound and also want lots of flower hahaha ;)

you can take whatever you want in veg and she will recover if you give that time, based on the amount of stress induced. She won’t herm if she is healthy. Just be patient. I give my plants plenty of time. 3 minimum for light defoliate, 4-5 after heavy defoliates/topping transplant 7 days are a good time frame. The more rest between, the more vigorous the plant growth.

Butt naked weeks into veg. Kept tight and light on purpose but you can make them live through anything.

I’ll most likely remove two of the large fan leaves from the centre stem on feed day then! I’m strongly considering flower in the middle to December or before January atleast. Just don’t want the pot to be too small

I transplanted from 3 gallon to the 27 gallon container and she was balled up pretty good. Even if you need to transplant to a bigger pot, just give her a week break before stress or flowering and she will be a-o-k

Hey man. Plant looks nice and healthy. I would however let her stretch out a little bit. Other than that I think she looks great!

I’m gunna let her get taller over these next few weeks hahaha :) just dealing with the last few main stem fan leaves after feed or right before! I’ve been reading about the strain, or looking for more grows of it. It’s always kinda short. That’ 95% indica genetics makes it a stocky girl

Cut two of these off and a few other small ones. They were limpin bad. The two big boys were touching the pot and had new growths growing between the blades. Plant must feel so much lighter. Lots of foliage left! You can actually see were they were starting to wilt! Good time to cut those two I think

Essentially got rid of the stuff touching the pot that was shaded. :) I won’t adjust the tension on any of the branches anymore cause it looks like it’s decently spaced! Very excited! Might move my flower day up a few weeks cause apparently it’s a 8-10 week flower for this bad boy.

Update! Sorry for the spam, I don’t think anyone’s following though anyway hahaha :)

Not gunna touch the wires for LST anymore, just letting it grow upward! I took the last two massive fan leaves that were tucked between growths off and gave her just water today. Been 3 days since I fed her, and she’s feeling dry and her tips are starting to dip abit. Figured she could use a drink after a trim! Here’s some new pics! She’s looking bushy and lovely :)

Check in growth from last trim/tuck! Took a few more leaves off. Working some of the growth outward so it can match up top on the canopy. Loads of new growths shoot from the top branches and ones under it!
