I ran a strain called Old Family Purple(Purple Urkle x Triangle Kush) whose leaves would go purple naturally without my having to drop temp.

My nightt time temps have been hitting down around 66-67. Daytime air temp at canopy around 82 with leaf temp 77-79avg

I ran regular non fem seeds my first indoor run last year. I popped a ton! Vegged a bunch! And flowered out 7. One day half way through flower one of the plants had some purple on it and thought i was cooked! Hahaha. Turns out it was just a pheno thing! Looked freaking killer! Worst bud off the run lol! (Not saying yours will do that). The color started in the buds though not the fan leaves. Could be your lights out temps?

The night time temp thing isn't intentional. I actually run a small heater to keep it as high as I can. Tent is right next to central air unit and closet stays cold without extra heat. Hands down my biggest expense is running a 1000w heater 24 hours a day to compete in a small room with my other biggest expense of the day. Noticed today my other plants are starting to "de-green" slightly, similar to how the jet fuel plant started changing. I'll try to snap some pictures when the lights start to dim before they go out, hard to get good pictures under a LED light at 100%

Girls were busy changing colors today. I see green fading in the rest of my plants, or maybe I've been staring at LEDs for too long.

And my thermometer is for my exit air. "And you don't have to say it, my F5 flo, F5 blueberry, and my Afghan Hash are all showing the same symptoms. I'm just not really good with soil. First try indoor soil I'm going back to hydro.
Good arm's to ya

I've done pretty much every type of media and grow set up out there and have circled back to dirt. For me it is the easiest of all the methods. Yes, it doesn't have the growth rates of DWC or Hydro but I also don't have to deal with rising or dropping EC, root rot(for the most part) or any of the other issues that water grown plants have to deal with.

I get that some people just can't seem to wrap their head around growing in dirt but it still perplexes me as to why. For me it is WAY simpler in regard to having to attend to it. In DWC you have to continually fiddle with EC and stuff whereas in dirt you water it into the soil and the soil does the rest.

Not knocking DWC as I've had many excellent harvests with this method but, again, I'm lazy so dirt is a good medium for me.

@MileHiGhost

I'm going to assume that the room your DIY tent is in can go totally black when you shut off the lights? Otherwise, you're going to have a light leak problem but you should know this from running DWC/Hydro.

Did you use Auto seeds? That's what they look like to me.

What size and power rating light are you using? Same question on the side lighting.

Just a suggestion but when I've made my own tents using PVC I like to use 3 way corner fittings for a more rigid structure, running T's along both sides, top and bottom so that I can make crossbars for both better structure rigidity and a place to hang things off of. If the tent is on the larger side I'll run T's on the vertical poles so I can add more straight lines and hang stuff like fans and other equipment off of it.

Of course this was in the early years when tents were exorbitantly expensive. Nowadays I can find 2 x 2 x 4 tents for around $40 so I just don't bother anymore.

The radient barrier you're using for the walls is a good insulator, but its reflective properties aren't quite as good as a white surface like Panda Film. If reflectance was one of the reasons for using this material I would add a layer of the panda film on the inside. The panda film can also wrap the entire interior to also include covering your floor. As you probably know, carpet, when or if it gets wet can be a PITA along with it being able to harbor bugs and things.

Also, if you are going to be using a tent of that size I would limit the plant count to no more than 2 and up the pot size to, at most, 5 gallon as it looks like your space won't accommodate anything more than that but the extra biomass in the pot will help in feeding your girls along with your not having to water as often. I'm a synthganic grower so I use organic based soil with synthetic nutrients.

Are the computer fans both blowing air in the same direction or is one pulling air in and one pulling air out?

I noticed the temp gauge but didn't see a dedicated hygrometer. I would suggest you pick one up to at least have a baseline of the environmental conditions your girls are in.

I like your DIY spirit but if you're going to do this on a regular basis there are better ways of getting more bang for your buck on a budget along with improving your harvest yields. If you'v e been doing hydro all of this should not be new to you. I'm guessing this was more an experiment than anything else? If you want help in properly setting up a dirt run I'm more than happy to give you suggestions on your next run if you choose to go that way.

Good Luck Bro!

Total blackout, never Auto. Like ever, the soil was an experiment. One that I do not want to repeat. Will be switching to deep water culture, the flo, blueberry are F5 DJ Short, the Afghan Hash is Barney.
The free hybrid Fem"s are happy except for the lack of N, due to I did not want to overload the soil with too much nuts and get a lock out. Back to separate DWC next round.

Little update. Decided to throw in a free booster i was given at the grow store. For some reason I thought it'd be ok to add it and not check my ppm/ec. 2 days overfed and they showed it hard. Diluted reservoir, added a small amount of base nutes and calmag to supplement and got back on schedule. The other 3 plants are starting to purple out. Tomorrow is the start of week 6 and I worry a little that I'm fading too soon and I'm going to lose some yield but the aroma from the tent makes my mouth water. Filtering air out of tent and filtering lung room exhaust and still have a pleasant smell throughout the house. Feel like I had a very nice thing going and this nute burn kills me. Only takes one mistake to trash a grow. Hoping I caught it in time. Good news is ph problems are solved, got a auto dosing system to regulate. Dosing meter is reading low, but I trust my bluelab pen more than a amazon dosing kit. Holds consistently 0.8

Found the cause of my yellowing. It's not good. Root rot. Smelled it when I got home from work today. Im too deep to toss em and start over. Cut out bad sections, treat with h2o2 and hope for the best? How heavy can I hit with peroxide? Any and all advice welcome here. Never had this issue. Been battling sensor issues past few weeks and knew I had been staying too saturated just didn't think I was this bad. High room temps also, lung room is 70 degrees tent staying 80+ until midday when house ac comes onand no matter how much I run the fan I can't suck in enough cool air.

OK I had a wet feet issue on a grow that killed the bottom 3 inches of the root system at week 5. I had thought it was a cal-mag issue and treated it but it only slowed it not stop. Here is where it started.

The damaged plant was 1/2 the yield and I had to be very harsh on trimming. Smokes ok but made better brownies.

Well, I made a bold move for science. I chopped my worst looking plant, every leaf had wilted overnight and she was lookin rough so I chopped and split the root ball up. Roots inside are all white with a few at top where greenish. Bottom had some whitish mold I assume growing and some brown root tips which I think was from lack of fresh air under the blocks. So I'm left to assume that I'm dealing with lockout. I had that double dose feed a week or 2 ago, I remade nutrients but I never flushed the media and fed as normal. In hindsight it's pretty obvious.

Here's what's left. See what kind of finish we can get. The one I chopped was 100% yellow and bud structure was looser on that plant on closer look so I think maybe this one has been having issues for a while. The rest of the plants have very firm dense feeling buds.

Also switched to drain to waste. Tired of fighting bacteria and algae in my tank when trying to feed my finish blends specifically flora nectar since it has molasses in it. Figured that was the cause of my reservoir stink

Pretty much finished up here. My prematurely harvested plant gave me a few grams short of a bag and half so on par to make my 6-7 ounce goal. My purple jet fuel plant smells like oranges, the sour diesels just smell dank. Trying to let them finish up a bit more before chop, nice and milky at the moment but really want that couch potato feel.

I have "high" hopes for this run. My prematurely harvested just finished dry and has a decent smoke with no cure time.

Learned alot on this grow. Check for organics in your nutrients. Get an air conditioner. I thought i would be fine in my ac closet but 70degree lung room air temp isn't enough to cool the tent in late flower even with LEDs. Next run will be much better, however im limited to waiting till next 4/20 to find clones. My cutting i took to make a new mother still hasn't died, but thinking I might do a from seed run on the next go. Branch structure was too irregular to do a typical mainline grow. Definitely doing a single plant in this small of a tent. Managing one root zone will be much easier and accurate with my monitoring devices. Thank you all for all the help along the way, I will post some finished buds once everything is dry. Might leave the jet fuel under the light for another week as it seems to still be thriving on the lower half of the plant.

Look online and talk to alot of people about seed choices. I'm in the middle of a grow where the seeds came from a source I am not all that familiar with and the plants are finicky as hell. I'll probably limp them to harvest but going forward I'm going to set up my extra 2 x 2 tent and go pheno hunting for a some good genetics and mother them up in the 2 x 2.
