Do you have a jewelers loop? You should get at least 10-15 percent Amber trichs. Then she is ready.

Digging the colors on that plant, I bet it'll be a good smoke for ya. Check out how you have some reddish brown hairs up top but also some fresh white ones. When you stop seeing any of those fresh white hairs on your plant is about the time it's finished and then you can examine the buds under magnification like a jewelers loupe or a USB microscope that works with your phone and look at the little hairs with bulbs on the ends. They start out clear and then start becoming opaque and eventually turn amber colored. If you like an energetic high, you are aiming for a greater number of opaque vs amber and if you like a sleepy sedative effect you'll want a little more amber than opaque. If you're new at this you can wait until you hit the harvest window and then incrementally take a bud here and there every 5 days, take notes and pictures so you know which is which later and then pick the one you like the best after everything's all dried and cured. Then for future harvests you'll have a better sense of when you are personally going to want to harvest.

Is that Granddaddy Purple? Mine will be ready in about a week or so, I am pretty sure, and I am on week 8! I only have a few ambers mostly milkies and clears. My hairs are still growing like yours I am a newby to all this myself but I have read that if you only see the hairs poping out on the top and its not uniform on the entire bud you could be giving too much light. I am not for sure how true that is tho, being new to this with only this grow almost under my belt. I flowered at 1200 ppfd

You really have to zero in on the tricombs looking at them without a leaf or color behind it (sidewise if that makes sense). That color behind might cause you to think a lot of amber is present & harvest too early. That happened to me last year.
