Looking to start growing, been looking at grow kits. I really like the AC Infinity, but is it worth the price? Total newb at growing so I thought I'd ask forum before purchasing. I mean will I get the same results from the $163 kit as I would from the $700 AC Infinity?

Yield is driven by light. What light comes with the inexpensive kit?

Abort abort!!!!i personaly never got a grow kit. And will never while doing the research required to custumize my tent i picked up alot of information im still using today in my grows. Do your dilegence . Additionally, when people ask you about your tent, you’ll know all the specs of everything you bought instead of just responding with the “I just got a grow kit .” Line
Lastly ive found that you can usualy source everything in the tent cheaper yourself and get better equipment and customer service. Thats just me

If you follow the link in my signature you can check out the vivosun grow kits. They and in between the 2 you listed. If you can afford the AC infinity that is probably your best option. They make great stuff

The kits used to be a rip off but there are a few companies doing fairly decent ones now

TBH you can grow this plant in a ditch on rain water so 'could you get the same result' is a resounding yes. The question is how hard do you want to make it for yourself. An AC:I kit is absolutely worth it if you can/want to spend the money on it. Those kits are $700 because they use much higher quality materials, include meaningful accessories and come with pretty advanced automation right out of the box. A cheap $150 kit will have none of that. It's also fair to say that depending on how much this product costs in your area, you can make your money back relatively quickly.

If you can build, build yourself a dwc kit, or if your up to it, go UC RDWC, it's just plumbing pipe and buckets.

I started with DWC, to hell with soil!

Have fun.

AC Infinity is a good choice for a kit. Spider Farmer and Mars Hydro also make decent kits at a lower price that would be worth considering.

Keep in mind though that the kits aren't necessarily good deals. They are roughly the same cost as buying the components individually. Just something to consider. Especially if you plan on upgrading anything... might be more worthwhile to buy individually. What the kit does is gives you a complete package to get the job done without overwhelming you with options.

The only items I would consider as a package or kit would be the tent and an exhaust fan…..to make sure they’re compatible.
The only other items you’ll need are the light, a couple of small fans, probably a small heater and, depending on your environment, a humidifier. Later down the road, once you have gotten to the flowering stage, you’ll likely need a dehumidifier.
I can’t help u w/ any particular brand of tent, as I grow in a closet. But I strongly recommend that you get the largest tent you can fit & afford. You may think that you’ll only grow one or two plants but even one plant can outgrow your space quickly if you do your job.
As far as lights go, I only use HLG. I know several other indoor growers and we’ve got a variety of different brand lights. But we all have the same style grow (coco amended w/ dry organics). Hands down HLG and Timber have ended up with the best results. They’re a tad more expensive but I’ve had one particular HLG in service for over 5yrs and not a single problem.
I’m talking about full spectrum LED lights, which are efficient, powerful, and produce minimal heat compared to the other options.
Whatever light you choose will indicate it’s “footprint” for both the Veg and Flowering stages, which is how much space it can adequately cover. Don’t try to get by with a light that isn’t big enough for your space. If anything, go with more light than you need and turn down the intensity.
I usually grow 3 plants in a 2’x6’ closet. Up until recently I used single 320w HLG full spec LED. It’s marginally enough light to flower a space that size. My grows usually yielded 11-12oz of dried manicured buds.
My last grow I added another 150w, also a HLG (150 Patriot), for a total of 470w.
This time the 3 plants yielded just over 1 lb. And I never had the lights cranked to full intensity.
Good luck….most folks on this forum are more than willing to help and are generous with their time.

I would go acinfinity. There model 69 pro controller makes thing a lot easier. I don’t think a 3 x3 is a good size. You will get constrained by the height. Better to spend the money up front.
