hey guys, need some help here.. growing 4 red diesel fem seeds in a coco perlite mix. canna range of nutes. at the beginning i was using a purple spec 120 watt cfl light but it did not seem to be working well so i changed it for a 200 watt blue spec cfl which i only have 1 week now.. i had no tent for the first two weeks and they were sitting in my attic with the 120 watt.. the 120 watt light barley lit up the tent.. i got a tent its 3ft x 3ft x 7ft im using a 4" extraction fan and i have a fan to circulate air.. for two days temps were up at 40 degrees C but normal temps are between high teens and 30.. no way of checking humidity..

the seeds popped on the 13th of june.. the first few days i was giving it just water.. my water has an ec of 3.8 ph is 7.5.. first week i did not ph the water but i have been ever since to 5.9.. after two weeks i started to give them 2ml rhizotonic and .5 ml A+B per liter.. i increased this to 3.5ml and 1ml A+B per liter over the next few weeks.. the ec readings never went above .9..

i think myself i have over watered the plants.. i was worrying to much about getting run off.. i was getting alot of run off for the size of the pots there in.. i was watering every 3 to 4 days or sooner depending on how heavy the pots felt.. when i watered i put alot of water through them.. maybe a 1 and a half liters for the 4 of them or a little less.. on the last watering i gave them 3ml of rhizo and ph the water to 5.9. one of them seemed to start coming ok but you will see in the pic.

the first two pics are of the same plant as are the next two and so on.. the leaves were starting to turn yellow from the bottom up on the plant in the first 2 pics but after the last watering it has seemed to stop..

the next two pics this plant is really sick.. the leaves are a very pale green and its very small... 4" tall and has not developed much..

the next two pics are of the biggest healthiest plant.. i actually germinated these seeds 1 and a half weeks after the others.. this was put straight into its pot that its in now.. the roots are starting to come out of the underneath of its pot now..

in the final two pics the plant is smaller then it should be i think but it seems to be ok.. sorry about the long post i just want to give out all the information that i can.. i want to resolve this issue as quick as i can..

where am i going wrong what can i do to fix this.. thanks in advance..:sweating

They need food and light. Don't feed them without also giving them light, as light is the driver, the chassis, the powerplant if you will. Yellowing from the bottom up is a classic sign that they need nitrogen, but they'll need other elements in order to use it, so any feed that's got NPK (I'm into organics so nothing that's too far over a 10-10-10, no chemical salt ferts in my world, either). Hell, even urine diluted at about 1:5-1:8 urine:water will do it. But a lot of people get squeamish at the idea, despite the solid science behind it, so you might prefer to get something specifically formulated to feed plants.

More light, more food.

You'll need to acclimate them, so have it raised up high when you introduce them to the light. Watch, and then start feeding LIGHTLY. Beginning at around 1/8-1/4 strength is a good method, especially for seedlings.

If height is limited and they're beginning at all to look like they're scorching, then be ready to shade them with a screen of some sort. You don't want to shade completely, you want to filter the light. Make sense? Either height or a physical block, it should take about a week or so to get them accustomed to the HPS.

I can't comment on the feed other than to say I like the NPK, as I haven't used it. But watching them is your best bet. :)

yup those deff need more light, you can tell by how much they have stretched trying to reach the light. After the initial switch to the 600 gradually move your light closer. Last seeds i did i sprouted them under a 600 about 2-3 feet away and they were fine. the worst thing you can do for seeds is overwater, their delicate roots cant handle being soaked for much time at all, and by the looks of your coco, it looks soaked. so let them dry up a bit under the new light before feeding again, and feed them a very small amount of feed/water, like a 100ml.
