I’ve been flushing my plant for the last five days with regular pH to water. This morning I gave it a good soaking all around the rock wool and just for shits I tested the PPM’s on my runoff water. It was over 2000 ppm’s. Do I need to keep flushing until there is virtually nothing in my run off? This plant is ready to be harvested but I do not want to take it before I give it a good Flushing

Maybe your meter is just measuring a lot of sediment in the runoff, I mean after all you are running the water thru soil and it's going to come out with lots of turbidity. The pen is telling you dissolved solids level not just nutrient load. I wouldn't worry just keep going with your planned flush.

How much runoff you getting per feed? You’d think rockwool would be easy to flush, you in slabs? Croutons? Could try something like slf-100 or yucca to help breakup salts

I bought some cleaning solution for flushing the salts. It said to use the last couple days before harvest. Im going to use that. Maybe I am being overly cautious but I just want to do it right. I’ll give it a good watering today and see with the runout PPM‘s are

Interesting problem, you would think it would have washed out of the cubes long ago.

Very true. For the longest time I was keeping tabs on my runoff which was a waste of time especially in geo pots/beds. Salts would soak into the fabric making all readings virtually pointless.

Ok. I have a 4” cube sitting on top of an 8” cube? Im not sure if its 8” but its big. Ive been pouring water directly into the upper cube the entire time. The other day i drenched the outer cube and thats when i got the 2000 ppm reading. I emptied the water and gave it another dousing. The 2nd reading was down to around 1100 ppms. Yesterday late, i gave it another flush and it was down to 440 ppm’s. I thought i would put the cleaning solution in some water and give it one last rinse before i put it into the darkness for a few days. Im hoping i was just getting the residual salts and chemicals the first time i drenched the outer edge of the bigger cube. I never really fed this plant a lot of nutes. Most of the time i wouldnt see any runoff when i fed just to keep the roots from being in the runoff water. I was thinking i could possibly give it one more soaking tomorrow night when its in the dark. And harvest Saturday after 4 days of total darkness

I think you'll be fine since you did the so much flushing. Just do your harvest and enjoy it, then get it all hung up to dry. It will be fine.

Looking forward to seeing what ya got out of the plant....How are your other ones doing especially that one CQ seedling.

I put 4 of the CQ X CQ outside and they flowered early and 2 were males so I replaced all 4 with some big girls out of the veg room.....keeping the one male for pollen for a local breeder that wants this cross for his genetics. glad I prepared extra plants so I could fix a major problem like this. The original 4 were not sorted phenos so now at least I will know these will be my best girls. The pheno that I planted outside are the same as the ones in the current indoor flower room and they are freakin huge. There is one pheno these seeds produce that is the biggest baddest girl that is fully capable of 6 feet indoors with only 4 weeks veg and she creates these hard swelled up buds that are just incredible. If you ever find that pheno in the batch hang on to it, it will bring a smile to your face. Pheno no.1 is the bad girl, you will know her when you see her if one comes from that batch....In a room that normally has 6-8 plants it can only contain 2 of the pheno no.1. 2 vegged 4 weeks are capable of filling a 4X5' canopy.

When the plant gets a little bigger take a few clones and then force them into flower and the clones will let you know the answer. Takes a few weeks though. That hybrid you have I know real well:) You can tell the sex often by the leaf structure. You and I are the only ones on the planet with these genetics so it can be quite an adventure. The girls will typically produce giant leaves early on (once their finished making the early 3 fingered leaves). In the second or third week you will often see 9 leaflet and even 11 leaflet fans. Also the main fans will have wide leaflets and will be very fat overall. They will sprout and seem small and then every day you look at the plant you'll think the fans grew 2 inches a day.

The boys are more spindly (trunks and stems) and the leaves are narrow and more sativa like. Internodal on the boys is also more sativa like. I have consistently seen this over and over.

Also, in hydro the trunks on the girls will often be 2X in diameter to the boys. The girls also develop these occasional roots that look like main tap roots even though clones never technically have taps. These tap like roots can be as big around as a pencil or even twice the diameter of a pencil.

Watch for these characteristics and see if you can correctly guess the sex before the pre-flowers......Right now its like "What's That? It's Pat?" Oh yeah and this strain shows sex pretty early in veg.

Practice. New grower here and i want to do this for the knowledge. I don’t have feminized seeds so I’m going to do the best I can until I throw it into the flowering stage.

I’m figuring with the time middle take me to clone and then try to figure out the sex of the clone I will be flipping the lights anyway so I’m just going to go with what I have and next girl I’m going to buy all feminized seeds
