Look at what happened in MT. Caregivers were busted, and were told that I-148 was not a defense for breaking federal laws. They were not allowed to even mention Medical marijuana during the court proceeds..

Same thing happened in colo with berkowitz, he was kinda asking for it. and in my opinion so was dudes in mt. Im not saying they deserved it by any means. a point i think needs made is that niether one of them were following the state law that had been set.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out but green punk hit the nail on the head. Until it is legal at the federal level you will still be able to be prosecuted and jailed for growing cannabis in CO. The feds do not have the resources to go after everyone, but I sure as hell would not want to be one of the guys with their name on some of the first 'legal' cannabis businesses to spring up. The feds don't give a crap about local or state laws or constitutional rights, being legal at the state level will mean nothing if they decide to go after you.

It will also open the industry up to companies like Phillip Morris which will probably not be a good thing in my opinion. I think it is only a matter of time before they start adding in tons of chemical additives to cannabis like they do tobacco to make it hit your brain harder and faster so it becomes addictive. This will also open the doors up to GMO cannabis, which is a whole other can of worms.

In the long run I am skeptical if these initiatives will benefit the cannabis community, but hopefully I am wrong. However I think only a fool would believe that putting control of cannabis in the hands of government and big business would lead to anything good for the average toker or grower. I just hope the legal cannabis industry does not end up being manipulated and controlled by corporate America and their government lap dogs, as has happened with virtually all other industries.

Lot of good points and things to ponder in the future, scary shit about taking my wife though gp. What ever happens, as it has been stated previously, the ability to adapt is what will win out in the end. Sh, the reason you are still here is you have had to change over time and are going to again.

I love doing what I am doing and luckily I'm not in it for the $$ as much as the satisfaction of doing what so few can or will. This plant is like fine wine, you can mass produce wine in a box but Silver Oak is better and there are enough connoisseurs that will seek out the good stuff.

The more peeps we can get to use this plant both medically and recreational the better off we will ultimately be.

The gov. Is supposed to take care of what we cannot take care of ourselves for they should be better equipped to do so lol but do they ... are they? Not when it doesn't benefit them directly without raising their bottom line.

Marijuana: John Hickenlooper stresses urgency in Amendment 64 call to Eric Holder

After the passage of Amendment 64, the Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act, Governor John Hickenlooper released a statement advising folks who voted for the proposal to wait before they break out the Cheetos and Goldfish. But he recognizes that the question of federal intervention over the measure is no joke -- hence, his call Friday to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on the subject. Here's what Hick's office is sharing about the chat.

According to gubernatorial spokesman Eric Brown, Hickenlooper was joined on the conference call by Colorado Attorney General John Suthers, who'd previously encouraged the feds to provide guidance about the amendment with alacrity.
The connection was made at just past 3 p.m. Denver time on Friday and lasted about eleven minutes, Brown says. As for details, he released the following statement:
Governor John Hickenlooper and Attorney General John Suthers talked to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder by phone [Friday]. They emphasized the need for the federal government to articulate what its position will be related to Amendment 64. Everyone shared a sense of urgency and agreed to continue talking about the issue.
The use of the phrase "sense of urgency" implies that the Justice Department won't wait around for months before weighing in on the act -- and the sooner Holder and company share their thoughts, the less likely it will be that they'll begin by seeking an injunction.

Why not?
Continue to read more about John Hickenlooper and Amendment 64.
The only section of the amendment that would take effect immediately upon Hickenlooper's signature, expected to be affixed within thirty days after the election, would be the elimination of criminal penalties against adults 21 and over for the use and possession of one ounce or less of marijuana for any purpose, including recreational ones. And according to DU professor Sam Kamin, a national expert on marijuana law, Colorado is within its rights to make such a change, even if the penalties no longer jibe with those at the federal level.

Establishing a retail system for the sale of marijuana for recreational use is an entirely different matter, however -- and since action on that score is targeted for late 2013 or early 2014, the filing of an injunction would likely need to wait until the Colorado legislature acted. But a threat could be made much sooner. With that in mind, Kamin expects the Justice Department to release a statement telling Colorado officials that if they put such rules and regs in place, U.S. officials will file suit at that point or begin making arrests based on the violation of federal drug laws.
In an effort to circumvent such a showdown, Democratic reps Diana DeGette, Ed Perlmutter and Jared Polis are reportedly drafting legislation that would exempt Colorado from the feds' marijuana policy -- a development that would get yet another branch of government involved in the issue.
All of which underscores the urgency cited in Brown's statement. The next move is Holder's -- and presumably, we won't have to wait long before he makes it.

then again...how many average folks do you know who buy their beer from their neighbor..or from a friend of a friend who is brewing it in a closet? Buying it from an unlicensed seller will put both people in an illegal situation under this law. (though you can GIVE away under an OZ legally)

Moonshiners still make a ton of money in certain parts of the country....

Bravo, Chem. Thanks for pointing out the "little" detail everyone is conveniently overlooking, IMO.
Fact is...the Gov't has never Ok'd commercial sales or large scale growing in >any< memo published on MMJ. It blows my aging/old mind that so many have let their guard down so far and have partnered up with the very folks who terrorized us for years....possibly putting the entire thing in jeopardy like the guys who went big in MT did.....which in turn SCREWED the average patient who was just trying to grow/medicate in their home quiely/freely...and who didn't see any of this as a money-making scheme or a career move....yet lost their right as well in the entire fiasco.

I don't want to see that happen here in CO. Hopefully others feel the same way/have the same concern. Amendments can be voted out of constitution as well....and deep down...CO is a historically Red/Republican state. Historically...especially on these MJ related issues...it's us liberal fucks in the hills who swing the vote from Red to >Freedom< :D

lmfao, reminds me of the vendors convention the right after 64 passed. The ideas the vendors were trying to sell was out of this world. There is NO way 95% of this shit would be allowed. And this was all well received by the so called entrepreneurs waiting to capitalize on the thing. Get rich schemes make a smart person do stupid things.

Why is everyone at eachother? anyone notice that? this is nice talking about different opinions but come on everyone... IF we cant put tangible conclusions and regulations together and form groups to keep standards... warehouse rules/regulations, distribution, brokerage fee, retail sales. wholesale sales.... then BIG PHARMA WILL FUCK YOU ALL@!!! those who want to move beyond the petty shit please read and respond....

SERIOUSLY let me say it again BIG PHARMA WILL FUCK YOU ALL!!! if you dont band together....

let me tell you why, and tell you proof as well and i hope you know this is what the camp to reg marijuana like alcohol wanted.

As others have eluded to here, big people are coming after the good growers (simply growers with good product and clone only/proprietary strains) and growers who know how to bang out warehouses with a crew. they already have the scientists. and the labor workers haha.

I have been approached by many of people. For a master grower position and for consulting on 3 YES 3! 120 light facilities (just one company).... take a moment to think about this. if there are say, even a 100 of companies that want to do this... then they will push small boutique growers out of business or at least offer us so much money that we cant refuse a job with them. the general public believe pharma to be a clean, american, way of doing things. so they welcome a LEGIT corp comming in and taking over what dispensary owners have turned into TAINTED, IMMATURE, BUGS AND MOLDY PRODUCT. and the 8 percent of you that doesnt do that, wont make a dent in the industry and cant mass produce or market so people will never know your good so they will never buy from you. or go in your basement and think your few lights will make a dent in the market...hahaha i was there man, listen to the people here, both negative and positive, shit is real and will REALLY help if we can listen. PEople need to STOP being technicians so much and read a freaking business book already damn!

Think about the alcohol industry. IT is no joke how the people of regulate 64 phrased their pitches. they want to be big, they welcome the big companies... now that weve all been bickering with eachother.... the alcohol industry is dominated by big corps. and now small, quality brewers even like NEW BELGIUM have to build huuuuuge facilities to even try to compete with big corp. ask them, i consulted for them on sustainability, and my buddy showed me the blue prints of their new projects... you want to be a business? did you know that somewhat around 8% of small business actually turn a profit for more than 3 years? look at the numbers of business people do some research pleaaaaase. the technicalness (and the ability to look beyond that) of our peoples is truly going to be our nail in the foot...

Now lets take a moment to think why growers would want this.... hmm legit income? lobbying? national network of sales? i mean people, please think outside the box. watch the movie the future of food, take it with a grain of salt obviously but this is where the industry is going IF WE DO NOT BAN together.

Now for the dude who started the thread... I understand how you feel. but get off your high horse dude. you have a foot in both sides?? dude so did i for a while... that should make u want to move beyond.hows that signing your rights over thing going for ya? how many friends do you have that you LIKE that play both sides? just sayin. A64 passed bc people went beyond this bullshit and said fuck it lets join em and see what happens... Lets all remember people are getting arrested every day for what we do, with comfort and delight. so I say if you dont have comfort and delight and you cant offer anything positive to the discussion like a stated above. then take your complaints elsewhere, otherwise lets make something positive out of this!

Regulation and rules are a good thing. if youve been rockin it for years, then no way could you not be down with what may come, because you have a foot in the industry. be thankful! WE ARE HERE! STOP writin so much about it and go do somethin. I for one have been plannin my own for a year now since 1284 was a shitstorm and A64 started being a posibility

Simple ,
This is one of the most aggressive chats sites I've come across. Take Note of a thread with approx a 1000 visits.
1..) Its the same 10 -20 people posting, very few other will leave a comment,
2.) out of the 10 -20 there are half of them that pounce on people./ they'll get in spat and the other is banned. that simple. The one not banned will post comments like, "what I do?"
3.) dont come here looking or offering cannabis info on cellular level as some people get bent out of shape if you offer any input in that regard, you'll get banned as your scientific research link will get you banned.
4.) dont talk about any personal published documentation that you have published worthy of education and to back your points, this will get you banned.
5.) This post and your post will be consider a" thread theft" and they will try to get you banned.

For the 1st time in our lives the world is talking of Legalization. Legalization in Colorado. Now everyone should grow some balls go to the capital and give Gov Hick some Cheetos. The Government can only do what we tell it to do. Dont sit here argue with each other lets argue with Hick, Hobama and the Cannabis Task Force they'll create.

99% of everyone on here would have a hell of good time if we bonging and social smoking together , I promise you that, I know a cpl that might brawl if we pulled out some booze.

NOW BACK TO THE THREAD CONTENT. ban me later

L O O K at the photo everyone is frustrated and in wonder if people will pay$3.50 a lb for Giant Red Lino Heirlooms or do we buy production Toms's?

Think about this , the world is coming to Colorado to vacation and smoke fine herb. WHEN HAS SUPPLY EVER MET DEMAND IN COLORADO? WHEN? We all remember the days when the Cartel couldn't keep up with Colo demand at harvest time.

Last point, how many people have looked at your heirloom tomatoes and drooled like the look when they see our fine buds?

View attachment 267884
Toms, beer, Even Fine wine will not compare to Colorado's finest bud growers as we growers , none of us would show to up at Lino's for smoke out with our finest Cola to show and Tell, you know I'm right there huh, our egos our to big..my bud is better than yours. How many brewer's? How many Heirloom Tom Gardner's?, How Many Colorado Cannabis Growers?
How many have a sample of wine or vegetables in their pocket?

GiantRedLinoHierloom tourist might not pay $3.50 a lb fot this Giant Red Lino Tom but he might pay a good price for some fine Colorado Mountain Grown Ganja.

.........not this again.........i thought this was just settled on another thread haha........Take it easy guys. If your after money then you'll find a way to get it one way or another. If you are after enlightenment, the best fuckin herbs that can be grown, freedom and liberty then amend 64 is one hella big step towards those things. If amend 64 is gonna put you outta business then you honestly gotta step your game up.... Take it easy

Bigwillis- I respectfully dont think you were fooled. Tried to offer an explanation why...

And out of the respect to logic and the mods i will not respond to you LIno, seems like a lot of shit has been started and im not biting. Simply saying an explanation to someone who thought they were fooled...

Be happy, we werent fooled. I believe if were open and understanding and be chill we will be prosperous. Talking through it with our peers is the best way to get over the trials and tribulations and missunderstandings :D

@Lifer: If you got a drinking problem and need to talk to about it, let me know.
