Flower day 47, a closer look at SC-G01 Hey farmers, here's the next dated update. The new photos are from October 17, day 47 in calendar days since the flip. We're now seeing a clear difference in the shape of one of the tops, so I've put the...

Hey farmers, I'm bringing our current run over here so we can keep a proper diary and hear what other people make of it. I'm part of the team behind Supercycler, the app we're using to run and record this comparison.
We're starting this thread on September 13, at flower day 13. The flip was September 1, and the public camera record goes back to the start of flower. I'll add dated updates here as the run develops.
There are four separate bays, running 12/12, 13/13, 13/14 and 14/14. Each bay contains a cut from each of the same four moms. That gives us 16 cannabis plants, with the same genetic lineup represented in every bay.
Sweet 16 is from Lit Farms. Lemon Cherry Fire F2 is from Tiki Seeds. SC-G01 is a cut we received as Mack #2, but its lineage hasn't been verified, so we're keeping the project label. Hell-echo is Berryfreak × Freakshow, and its unusual foliage is part of the genetics. She's the oddball in the lineup before any comparison even starts.
The question behind this journal is whether the different schedules produce a meaningful difference over the full run. Right now we have an early record to share. We haven't harvested, and there are no final yield or lab results from this comparison.
Supercycler handles the light schedules through a Shelly Pro 4PM and records the switching and electricity use. Watering is manual. The public dashboard brings together the cameras and the temperature, humidity and VPD readings from the bays.
The attached image is a frame from the day 13 dashboard recording. The columns in that view are 12/12, 13/14, 13/13 and 14/14, from left to right. Two bays were in their lights out period when it was captured. The timelapse is the better place to see what happened across the day, with a recorded dashboard frame every five minutes.
There are still gaps to keep in view. Direct PAR measurements are pending, and we only have one bay per schedule, so differences between the spaces can affect what we're seeing. Matching the cuts doesn't make those other differences disappear. Elapsed time and electricity use are part of the record too, because an eventual harvest number on its own won't answer every question.
I'd like this thread to become a useful record people can look back through, including the rough edges and anything that doesn't go as expected. If you've kept a similar journal, drop a link. If something in the footage raises a question, bring it up. Pull up a chair and follow along.

Hey GNick55, cheers for taking a look. I should have made the distinction clearer in the opening post.
The 14/10 and 13/11 schedules you mentioned both add up to 24 hours. We already did a separate comparison of 12/12, 13/11 and 14/10 back in 2024, with Yeti and Harambe. That report is up, including the results and lab reports.
That earlier run is part of the background to this diary. The question here is about the length of the whole cycle. In the current comparison, 13/13 adds up to 26 hours, 13/14 to 27 and 14/14 to 28, alongside the 24 hour control. So the distinction is the total period, beyond the usual 24 hour day.
That's the part we're documenting with Supercycler and the public timelapse. The old results belong to the old comparison. They don't establish what this one will do, and we haven't reached harvest here yet.
I've attached the header of the 2024 report so it's easier to keep the two runs straight. Glad to have you following along, mate. If you've got a link to an older journal that also changed the total cycle length, I'd be keen to read it.

otherwise i could care less about the “results” of someone’s else’s grow as with most of these testing places can’t even grow weed properly,,
anyhoo enjoy the farm,.

GNick55, mate, the examples you gave still total 24 hours. 14 + 10 = 24 and 13 + 11 = 24. The periods in this diary total 24, 26, 27 and 28 hours. Changing the split within a 24 hour day and changing the length of the complete cycle are different comparisons. That's the distinction your example doesn't address.
If you've seen this specific comparison documented before, post the journal or paper. I'll gladly read it. Saying 'the ones that know, know' doesn't give anyone here a record they can check.
We're not claiming to be the first people ever to explore longer cycles, and we haven't claimed a winning result from this run. We're sharing a dated record, with the limitations stated up front. An older trial would be useful background, and another documented run can still be worth following.
You're welcome to point out something specific in our record. Dismissing other growers' ability without addressing their work doesn't settle the question. We'll keep the diary updated and let the record speak for itself.

October 3, flower day 33, week 5
Hey farmers, time to put some fresh pictures in this diary. The plants are doing well and all four genetics have buds formed in all four bays. Height has barely changed since September 25, so the stretch looks to be winding down.
We're still following Sweet 16, Lemon Cherry Fire F2, SC-G01 and Hell-echo, with a cut from each of the same moms under 12/12, 13/13, 13/14 and 14/14.
A few visual differences are worth recording. Sweet 16 and Lemon Cherry Fire F2 look frostier on the sugar leaves under 13/14 than their 12/12 counterparts. SC-G01 has more visible outer flower sites under 14/14, and Hell-echo has more buds showing under 13/13. That's what we're seeing in these plants. There are no resin measurements or harvest results yet.
The part we're really watching is still ahead. In our previous grows, bulking under 13/13 and 13/14 came later, around day 50. We expect clearer differences from around day 45 onwards, but this run has to show its own result. Those are calendar days from the flip, not a count of the longer cycles.
We've updated the dated log with canopy light readings and the work to level the shorter plants. The switch from hand watering to scheduled drip on September 16 is recorded there too.
The first image follows the same four bays through flower days 4, 18, 25 and 32, left to right. Rows are 12/12, 13/13, 13/14 and 14/14, top to bottom. The next images show the day 32 flower comparisons and what we're watching for over the coming weeks.
Dated trial notes and progress photos

Good to have you following along. Have a look at the progression and tell us what catches your eye. We'll keep adding the record through harvest, including anything that goes sideways.

Flower day 47, a closer look at SC-G01
Hey farmers, here's the next dated update. The new photos are from October 17, day 47 in calendar days since the flip. We're now seeing a clear difference in the shape of one of the tops, so I've put the comparisons together in a single image.
SC-G01 under 14/14 is opening into a ring that we're calling a crown. Fresh white pistils are appearing around the outside, with older orange pistils toward the centre and a visible gap between the central and outer flower clusters. In this set, the 12/12, 13/13 and 13/14 tops still have a more compact, rounded dome.
These are cuts from the same mother. We received SC-G01 as Mack #2, but haven't verified the lineage. Sweet 16, Lemon Cherry Fire F2 and Hell-echo remain in all four bays as well. This photo series is specifically following SC-G01.
We noticed the change around day 40 and photographed it more clearly on day 42. In previous runs this mother has formed separate tips and stacked clusters that later filled in. That's the progression we're watching for here, not something we're claiming has already happened in this run.
The top row shows all four schedules on day 47. The lower comparisons show day 42 and day 47, with 12/12 above and 14/14 below in each. The day 47 detail frames are different views of the same two tops. The caliper was held at roughly 35 mm as a reference, not used to claim that every flower is 35 mm wide.
We recorded this extra hypothesis on October 12, after spotting the change, separately from the original predictions. If the other schedules develop the same shape, or the crown stays loose instead of filling in, that belongs in the diary too. Same equipment doesn't remove possible differences around each top.
Still no harvest weights or resin measurements. For now we're documenting flower shape and keeping the dates straight. Anyone recognise this progression from a cut they've run a few times?
