This is the grow schedule I started from last year. I used it with happy frog soil and had great results. I followed their guide so strictly that I even used nutrients in brand new happy frog soil right from the beginning, not knowing it wasn’t necessary. Never had an issue. I’m reading reviews now where people are saying to only use half their recommended dose for cannabis. In the end the buds were a little small, but I blamed that on me being a rookie or genetics. I definitely didn’t see anything unhealthy though, that’s for sure.In happy frog my plants grew great with no food for 4 weeks, now transplanted and I tried to feed them and they didn't like it. I dont trust their schedule for weed.
Are you growing in soil?
I'm highly suspicious of feeding schedules like this for soil. This schedule is not on the bag of the "All Purpose" OMRI fertilizer.
If you mix about a tablespoon per gallon of the all purpose stuff in your soil mix, that works for me for several weeks. They only need pHed water with some molasses in it for 4-5 weeks after potting them in the mix. I only add additional nutes when the plants are asking for it.
Stick with whatever works for you, but IMO, if you're working with soil you should be at least partly organic, and supplementing as the soil mix becomes depleted. One of the benefits of soil is that you don't have to fuck with schedules like this if the nutrients are in there, and you have a mix of soil organisms working for you.
Companies response :I noticed that Fox Farms was good enough to update their nutrient schedule, specific to the soil I’m using. Interestingly enough, the new schedule only includes 2 of the 4 products that I purchased in bulk. Wonderful. The one thing I thought I had figured out is now changed. They must have known that I hate change. Improvise, adapt and overcome!
On some levels, I’m relieved to see Cal-Mag on the new list, but I’m also left with new questions ... it looks like I’ll be ordering more nutrients and I just wanted to make sure that I’m understanding all of this new information correctly. I emailed Fox Farms and I expect them to say “yes, you need to order everything, should I put that on your credit card?” While I wait for them to respond I thought I’d take my chances to see if there were any resident Fox Farm happy frog experts in this community who might be able to help clarify this nutrient schedule for me.
I believe the green on the top are dry nutrients and the green on the bottom are liquid. Choose one right? Then you need the orange as well. What about the purple? Is the purple exclusive to dry nutrients? They were good enough to color code everything but they forgot to explain the color-coding to newbies like me. Thanks again. I’ll be sure to share the companies input regardless.

Maybe I just need to rethink this. If I’m already looking at purchasing more nutrients, perhaps there’s another way. I thought Happy Frog was the “gold standard” for growing cannabis in soil, that’s why I chose their nutrient line-up. I at least wanted to see how it worked out and I’ve gotta say, little buds or not, I was very pleased with the head space it gave me so I figured maybe their new grow chart was even better. Idk man.
Might seem like Overkill but I love it...I use Fox Farmthe soil feed schedule works great for me...
Yep. I’m looking at the dirty dozen. I’ve been hearing a lot about mixing the coco coir into happy frog in a 15-85 ratio. One more thing to buy. I guess anything worth doing is worth doing right. It’s like a boat. Break Out Another Thousand.Might seem like Overkill but I love it...
Only thing is make sure you buy extra big bottles of the big Bloom the grow big and the tiger bloom cuz you're going to need them...there also great cuz they're organic...Yep. i'm using that combo right now. about 75%FFOF and 25%HF. doing Roots Organic Terp Tea's throughout my grow of auto's. i'm in week 4 now and just fed them a tea of microbe charge and grow, along with molasses for the first time a few days ago. they seemed to enjoy it. can't wait to see how it turns outI've seen some fire with half Ocean Forest, half Happy Frog. Just compost/casting tea all the way through and a perfect fade by the end.
Yep, I buy the quart size bottles of those guysOnly thing is make sure you buy extra big bottles of the big Bloom the grow big and the tiger bloom cuz you're going to need them...there also great cuz they're organic...
Yeah I buy the quarts for convenience, except this round cause $225 is double what I’d like my budget for this project to be. Also Fox farm trio is organic based. I think there’s a difference but I don’t know. I know that I don’t know much. That’s something to work with.Only thing is make sure you buy extra big bottles of the big Bloom the grow big and the tiger bloom cuz you're going to need them...there also great cuz they're organic...
I don’t know why I’m so hung up on ocean forest. Everybody else likes mixes and I’m this crazy purist over here. I once dated a woman who couldn’t put a piece of steak and a piece of potato in her mouth and chew. They had to be eaten separately. I feel like I’m being unreasonable with my stubbornness of not mixing soils.i'm using that combo right now. about 75%FFOF and 25%HF. doing Roots Organic Terp Tea's throughout my grow of auto's. i'm in week 4 now and just fed them a tea of microbe charge and grow, along with molasses for the first time a few days ago. they seemed to enjoy it. can't wait to see how it turns out

Unless they’ve changed formula, only Big Bloom is organic.Only thing is make sure you buy extra big bottles of the big Bloom the grow big and the tiger bloom cuz you're going to need them...there also great cuz they're organic...
I’ve been avoiding the hydro store like everything else in this civic crisis. I’ve actually only ever been there once. I’m looking forward to going back. I was all set with a quick $100 budget for this next run, now I’m looking at multiple soils, thanks guys and gals, I’ve discovered that my nutrient trio is just the beginning of 16 different nutrient/health/pest management items that I’ll want to invest in ... I had other things I was going to oook into but that’s shot for the month of February. Win loose or draw we’re going to get right down to the bottom of this situation. I knew they were going to say I needed it all. I just knew it.lol. right on.
this is my first grow and throughout my research before starting it, and throughout my daily research still, it seems as though this was the preferred method of most for beginners like myself as it's tough to screw up, or so i've read?
the one recommendation that was given to me was by the store employee where i grabbed my soil. he told me to fill the pot first with FFOF and then the rest and most importantly the center where the plant would be going was to be filled with HF as to avoid nutrient burn during the seedling and early veg stage. i'm in 5 gallon smart pots and have just started my tea regimen with an emphasis on the lower end of what the feed schedule calls for.
oh yeah, totally understandable regarding the civic crisis. i've been refraining from going out and about, and wholeheartedly follow science on the rare occasion when i do.I’ve been avoiding the hydro store like everything else in this civic crisis. I’m ridiculous and a tad OCD and I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night wondering if I was missing out. I’ll dive deeper than I need and you can all watch and laugh and learn but it’s pretty well decided now because I just added it to the budget. $421.86 for nutrients and soil on a single plant grow operation. Some people have gambling problems so life could be worse. There’s plenty of time to hate myself later. I could converted to hydro for that, but I’d be back on soil for the clones. I don’t know that hydro will ever be my thing. What’s done is done. There’s really only one way to go from here so everything is set to work out. Or so I think. Time to shut off the brain. Goodnight!oh yeah, totally understandable regarding the civic crisis. i've been refraining from going out and about, and wholeheartedly follow science on the rare occasion when i do.
good on them for getting back to you so quickly. as you mentioned that's beyond a rarity nowadays.
holy smokes! that seems like a lot of nutrients. as a beginner i'd be lost trying to follow that regimen which is another reason i opted for teas, but that is strictly a personal preference.
