Transplanted 3 seedlings at around 2 weeks old into fox farm ocean forest and all have deficiency’s immediately with new growth. Brown spots forming yellowing leaves extremely fast. This happened last time I used fox farm/ went organic. Never have a problem with pro mix and fox farm trio might go back. But any advice?

I've used it on clones and seedlings with good results. Do you have any pictures of the plant?

This is a stressful situation, I’m sorry you are dealing with this.

Pictures would help, but for sure more information would be useful in supporting your search for answers.

Why are you assuming nutrients? Pro Mix and Fox Farm too is a solid solution, but I've been using Ocean Forest and Happy Frog since the 90s and the results have been solid. One time I was quick to blame Happy Frog for similarly discoloring my cuttings, but after thinking it through, I realized going from florescent lighting in peat pots, to transplanting into new pots, and then putting them under more intense light without giving them a period to adapt was too much. I had done that way several times, but one plants stress will delay growth, and another’s will kill it.

It’s the same with as with other things we do to them that cause stress. Just because it worked before… It may be less stress on us, if we stay aware that there are times we are disrupting their lives and remain ready to accommodate them when it’s too much.

When you say, “…deficiency’s immediately with new growth. Brown spots forming yellowing leaves extremely fast”, what do you mean immediately. Is it hour, days, or as soon as the new growth comes in?

Is the old growth fine, and only the new growth that has the brown spots and yellowing, or is it spreading to the old growth too?

Is the soil a new bag, or has it been stored properly if not?

Did the transplant go smoothly?

Has the environment changed otherwise, the light intensity, air flow, humidity, VPD.

I am new to this forum and don’t mean to be invasive or pushy, but I think answers to these questions would be helpful for the other readers help you find some peace.

i have to disagree with the
deficiency statements. FFOF is a hot mix and shouldn't need any nutes for at least 4 weeks.
i'm betting it's just to hot for your strain to be in at such a early stage.
maybe keep the seedlings in solo cups until their bigger and can handle the nutes better.
just my 2 cents

I'm having the same issue. Started my seedlings growing in a 4 inch pot using 100% Fox Farms Light Warrior. Nice green growth and then transplanted into 100% Fox Farms Ocean Forest. Within 2 weeks the leaves turned yellow. I started some new plants and starting to get the same results 1 week after transplant. Started a third seedling.....it's nice and green but don't want the same yellowing/spotting results. Growing indoors. Lighting about 22" above plants. Temperature maintained in the 70's and humidity in the low 30's. Feel like I'm kicking a dead horse.

The humidity is too low. Bump it up to the 50s.

Without seeing it, I'm guessing there's root problem. Was the soil moisture about the same? Transplanting into dryer soil can harm the roots, reducing their ability to absorb and move moisture and nutrients. It could explain the symptoms.

Did you add any amendments to the FFOF?
