Thought I would drop these at about the same time as a friend of mine to compare methods and spark a little friendly competition (in honor of the olympic games of course). I am also trying to create and document a tried and true method of seed starting for myself since I have had bad luck recently with damping off, feeding too early, etc..

day 1- drop seeds in 4oz of RO water with 1/2 tsp neptunes harvest, 1/2 tsp root pack, 2 drops molasses, and 3 drops vitamin b.

day 2- transfer seeds direct in to 1/2 full solo cups with 50/30/20 hydroton coco perlite mix, pre soaked with RO water only. place under t-5, 18" away. The top layer of the mix in the cup was 1/2" of pure coco, so the seed would be surrounded by only fluffy soft damp coco.

day 3- mist surface with RO water only. I am misting now because overhead watering and ebb/flow was displacing too much mix. This way the mix stays in place, and the tap root is not disturbed.

day 4- same as above

day 5- 8/10 sprouts break by morning, the other 2 by afternoon. mist with 20 sprays of root/foliar tea each.

day 6- 20 sprays RO water each

day 7: moved t-5 lamp 6" closer. hit with tea again 20 sprays each.

Pics of day 7:

Sounds like such a Badass cross! Good luck! Did you burn "wilma" into that cup with a hot paper clip? it looks crazy.

I use a solder gun to burn drain holes in to the solo cups (old trick). then I branded this cup with wilma for fun.

Not normally... I havent run seeds in a while, and recently I have had bad luck. the first ones I sprouted a month ago... I fucked up and put them in my ebb flo system, and the timer got stuck on and just stayed on for a day. I killed half.

a couple weeks ago, I started a few more, and killed 1/4 of them. I think I watered the RR's too much, but I am afraid of them drying. Now, I am being very diligent, and documenting my method every day so if the results are good, they can be repeated.

well I lost one to damping off. I was watering too much again I guess. So next time I will slow it down. The rest are doing well. I backed off on the water... I gave them some jacks when they looked a little hungry, and I think it was a little strong for them as you can see by the tips. I sprayed them with Ca25 the other day and they liked that.

So I had to cull like 5 for space/count reasons, and I had to move them 2 weeks in to veg to the floor like 5 ft. from a t-5. Now they are 6 ft. or so from a 600 so I am not having the highest expectations. BUT, I have some other wilmas that are a couple weeks ahead and closer to the lights.

Here are the ones that just got put in

and here is one that is around 21 days.
