take your cutting

trim it up - angled cut on the stem, trim the leaves to cut down on transpiration a bit and dip the end in the Clonex gel

place the cutting into the hole in the coco in the cup and press the coco gently down around the stem. Important note: you don't want leaves overhanging the edge of the cup. This is cause tissue damage on the leaf and invite mold and funk. so after the cutting is placed in the coco, I take my trimmers and cut any overhang off at the edge of the cup.

there is a before and after final trimming

then take the 16 ounce clear cups and use one as a dome for the clone

place the cups into the warm area cloning tent for me, and forget about them for about 3-4 days.
temps in this tent run between 80-90 degrees. after a couple days, i will take the domes off briefly to allow fresh air into the dome. Then the dome goes back on. After 4 days, I take the domes off. If a clone wilts, the dome goes back on. If it doesn't, the dome stays off, watch for new growth and roots. wash rinse repeat

new growth - see the new growth - that means the plant is making roots too.

onc eyou have a nice healthy thick mass of roots, transplant into coco or dirt. The plant will adjust to going into dirt quite easily. If you want to run the clone in hydro, wait for the roots to gte nice and thick, remove the clone from the cup and gently rinse off the coco from the roots. Put in hydroton and let her rip

questions?

Awesome cloning wrote up. I used a square planter with spray nozzles constantly spraying the stem but didn't get roots for 2 weeks. I'm going to use this method next time...the clones look healthier.

I've perfected my cloning over the last 5 yrs. I may lose 4 of 150.....if even that. I'm telling you guys, try dip n grow. Cheapest, quickest rooting compound I've ever used.

that's pretty darn good. I wouldn't do anything else either if i were you. Thanks for the input!

we are here to help each other, my friend.

the method i posted is stick it and forget it, for a few days anyway. once the domes come off without the cutting wilting, just keep the coco moist until you see roots

some folks are balking at temps runing around 85 degrees or so. The temps in my winter cloning tent, as you can see in the pics above, are 85 degrees plus. in a hydro cloner, yes that's too warm. for this method, 85 is perfect. In fact, i just got roots on a couple Sunset Sherbet in 6 days and it's about 85 in my veg room. I only use the tent during the winter to maintain temps for the cloning action. in the summer, my veg room is plenty warm enough

my tents (cloning/veg/bloom) all run hot 85+, seems to work fine for me so far
