That's not entirely what was said. I've had some personal experience on this one. There can be a few reasons.
#1 og lineage
Certain OG lineage will throw three finger leaves in a totally normal, healthy environment.
#2 insufficient light
Insufficient light will cause your plant to throw three fingers too... When i was running a dinky veg light, my og plants threw three, four, two, one....i feel like the fact that it threw three finger leaves under hps for veg says this particular strain was more susceptible to the 1-4 awkward finger deal.
As i posted this on that thread by sea i read more and more of the same thing happening in similar situations. Just thought id share my take, hope this helps
