I see Peter in the background lolOh yeah, I was gonna mention that I received the traveling shirt yesterday. Give me a pile of metal and some shit to work with and I can be fairly artistic, put a fucking pencil/pen/marker/whatever in my hands and forget it. So, nothing artistic from me, I just put my name to it and called it good.
He put in a few beans for me, some from him, some from @G gnome and some from @Happy b , some from Joe Fresh, and I think there was one more, can't remember right now.

What are you talking about ? Lol i mean here this guys talking about video equipment that id kill to have. 10,000 cameras and all he can talk about is capturing weddings. Sure its meaningful but its fucking boring for anyone expect the two getting married. I shoot for passion not for $$ and weddings in the world of camerad is only meaningful to the photographer/videographer for one reason. Money. So all things considered im being more thoughtful than you realize.Really? I think having that day captured with some good photography is probably pretty meaningful and important to the people getting married, as well as their families. Kinda seems like a job that carries a bit of responsibility to me.

Garden guy + Internet = dumb I don't do wedding videos and I've never charged a penny to take pics for someone. I do it because I like taking pics and saving friends and family money

My lady picked me up a polaroid from a garage sale not too long ago. So much fun. I got an old minolta 35mm and mamiya medium format to play with occasionally too. Old cameras are dope. Film is a dying era... I think fuji film is the only company still making 16mm stock reels. And i think the limited selection is making true film fanatics have a really hard time shooting on real film without a 10,000$ budgeti got a nikkon camera, wanna take yer photogragh,mama dont take my kodachrome away oh yeah :)
Thats a bummer. Photography is a fascinating art, one that i appreciate in a big way. I used to attend all the photography contests at my old school for fun. I would always follow my favorite photographers. There were a handful of students that really had their shit on lock.i bought my wife a really expensive rebel eos 35mm with 3 dif lenses right before the digital camera boom and it just sits in the corner now.every time i say i want to sell it she says she will start using it again.
Garden gay I didn't buy equipment fir any special reason, I bought equipment because I like taking pics and wasn't happy with the quality of photos I was getting. I started with a 7d and when that fell short of my expectations I bought a full frame. Why do you keep talking about taking video with a still photo camera you do realise they make cameras for that as well. I have about 5 min total video shot with my still photo cameras if I wanted to shoot video I'd buy a video camera. I'm kind of big on using the right tool for the job. I use weddings as an example because they are a perfect example of what a camera is capable of. The vast majority of my pics are of my family and kids playing, birthdays and sporting events. I take pictures of whatever the fuck I want to. The most interesting shoot I ever did for a person like you would probably have been the pics I took for my friends tattoo shop. Couple of drop dead stunning girls near nude will full back tats. I like long lenses when taking pics of my kids because the best shots I have are when they don't know Dad is taking pics. Yes I am a self indulgent weiner and a lot of the things I buy simply because I have a pile of cash to do it.Mittenmedgrow + wedding photos = way to utilize all that equipment. Why dont you lend it to some student filmmakers who have a brilliant idea but no money to back it. Or to someone shooting some extreme sports, or a documentary. Anything. fuck man if i had that equipment when i was 100% head first into film it would have been amazing, i wouldve had twice the confidence with a camera like that. Ten times the motivation. Just saying. Wedding photos and some landscapes is a stupid reason to invest all that money in some equipment. If you dont have anything to shoot your just a self indulgent weiner for buying all that shit brother. No offense, truly.

Since I've been on my own I've been working my way up. I started out sharing a low income ghetto apartment with a friend. When I got into construction I worked my ass off for years to just to have a very modest home and a very little money to enjoy life. I saved up money and when I met my first wife she had a decent job and we were lower middle class for years. Nothing I have was given to me I worked my ass off to get what I have and it took a lot of years of saving and reinvesting instead of buying toys like most of my friends. Now that I'm getting a little older and doing better financially I'm getting some of the things I wanted when I was younger. I still drive a pos truck live in a modest home in a decent neighborhood and my wife drives a pos minivan. For me nice vehicles are nothing but a display of social status. Sure i coukd wrap up all of the money we hsve in a couple of nice vehicles and a nice house but I'd be doing it to show off to the world and I'd have nothing left for family vacations and the little things I truly enjoy in life. I have friends that give me shit about having nice toys and taking vacations with my family after they drive over from their 250 thousand dollars houses in their 60 thousand dollar trucks. Sure I'd like a nice truck or car but my cheap ass vehicles do everything I need them to do. Papa I really feel for your situation and I often you got dealt a shitty hand and I have a ton of respect for the fact that your still trying to make the best of what you have to deal with. I've never had money, always been on the poor side of middle class, raising three sons on a single income was difficult but, we always prefered to have her at home with our kids. Annyyway, back when I was a mechanic I had a lot of money invested in tools, it's pretty damn easy to do if you want quality stuff to work with. Problem is, by the time I finally found my niche in life and got all that money invested I ended up getting this fucking disease and couldn't do it anymore. At this point in my life I could be making good money and it would be just myself and my wife. I'd be doing something I love too, the guy I worked for, and would be still, is primarily just building hot rods and shit these days, I always wanted to be able to just do that shit.
Bums me the fuck out when I think about that shit.
Well, now that I got all that out. Dude, if you've got the money to spend who can fault you for buying the best shit you can get? I try to do that when I can on my limited budget, I sure as hell would if I had plenty.
