For sprouts I'd go 24-25". Works fine for very young and even premature cuttings. 48" just sounds WRONG. Maybe that number is for a 1500 watt panel or a spider.what height for germination -- they say 48 inches - seem a bit to high ----HELP (running 2 of them) also 3by2 space - considering 4 - 4.5 pot's or 2 - 7.5 airpots - or 2 gallon and 1 - 3 gallon for an auto Please help !!! also 3 -4.5 pot might be the best ? but for yields want to use the 2 7.5 gallon ????????????
led is new to me -(an old timer) the kind K3 L450 was my 1st pick - it will be my next if I go with LED's having a heat issue with the 2 running in that area - have a fan (90 +) degree - need a bibber fan or ezchaust. I forget how to figure "cfm's" for a grow space to detreme fan output/size ( forumal is total ft x ?)Here we are :) standard distances for 300w cheapos.
:
they recommend 48 to 56 inches and yes - 300 watt for germinationFor sprouts I'd go 24-25". Works fine for very young and even premature cuttings. 48" just sounds WRONG. Maybe that number is for a 1500 watt panel or a spider.
Please send it to me if there is a website I can refer to for those GH distances. Im working with the galaxyhydro 300 and it is currently 13-15" above my flowering plant. I still cant be so sure if this is on the count of light burn.for the hydrogalaxy 300 (140 Actual watts)
they recommend:
- Germination Stage: 48-56 inch, 16-18 hrs.
- Vegetative Stage: 40-48 inch, 12-16 hrs.
- Flowering Stage: 24-40 inch, 10-12 hrs.
which seems way too far away but that's what they recommend...
and also, if you're running 12 hours in vegetative stage, you will go into flower, lol... so I don't personally believe those numbers but I'm not running this light so I don't know for sure..
I didn't figure it for light burn just because sometimes the very top leaves would look fine while lower, older fan leaves would be the ones to shrivel and die.Looks like light burn to me. I'd go to at least 24" with the bloom on.
I just looked at the page for that light on Amazon. Recommends 24" min height. I'd raise that sucker.I didn't figure it for light burn just because sometimes the very top leaves would look fine while lower, older fan leaves would be the ones to shrivel and die.
All I found was this and idk what it translates toI just looked at the page for that light on Amazon. Recommends 24" min height. I'd raise that sucker.
Shit!!! Kind of wish I would have known that about 3 weeks ago. lol thx for your helpAt germination put it at 30 inches. After a couple weeks when they take hold and get strong drop it down to 24. I would never put the light lower than 18 inches even in flower, due to the infrared heat.
18in is close enough to burn your plant. Of course temperatures play into it a lot but even if your temperatures are under control you can still sustained light burn. To me it looks like the temperatures are too high and the light is too close.Shit!!! Kind of wish I would have known that about 3 weeks ago. lol thx for your help
The temperature is beautiful. 76°F.18in is close enough to burn your plant. Of course temperatures play into it a lot but even if your temperatures are under control you can still sustained light burn. To me it looks like the temperatures are too high and the light is too close.
Are you measuring the temperature at the top of the canopy directly under the light? And are you recording your highest temperature with a record keeping thermometer? The temperature is beautiful. 76°F.
Actually no. That reading was UNDER the canopy lol. But if light burn is a clear problem, then this must be another one all together ie: pH flux :(Are you measuring the temperature at the top of the canopy directly under the light? And are you recording your highest temperature?
