why would anyone promote such a crappy yielding strain?, I've grown for the last 12 years and have never seen ANYTHING yield less than this garbage, even my Erkle yielded more. Supposedly this Grape Ape I'm running is a good yielder, related to the GDP, this shit is a waste of fuckin' time, space and nutrients....Maybe I got clones off the worst pheno ever, but, I am so pissed I didn't go with something else. Mark my words, NEVER GROW GDP or ANY OF ITS CROSSES......Never Again....And I'm sick of this Narco High.....God, I can't wait til my Cali-Connection gear is in my room filling up my table.....

Let me know what you guys think on this GDP shit....

It does have that "narco" high though.....it's stronger than the grape ape and qwerkle.
If you smoke it all the time it tends to make you drag a little..but has it's uses.

I know there are different cuts but I thought the 2 different GDPs I had both needed potency increases. They yielded OK though. The one was a bit more potent and they were both tasty. I crossed the more potent one with Bubba Chunk (katsu bubba x deep Chunk) and it is a real nice cross.

Sorry you had bad results. I think all the purples need help one way or another. None of them do it alone or very long for me. Purple Kush and the Purps both had weak potency. Every purple pheno of any strain I got a purple pheno with was the weakest pheno. Nirvana A. Indica used to be good weed from seed until they started using a purple male to breed with.

Purple PURPLExes me. LOL!

I have both the purps urkle and GDP. GDP is the higher yielder and the yield is not disappointing. Over a pound per 1000W light is easily doable without any topping or training. Its also one of the local favorites to smoke. I think you may have a bad cut my friend.

Kens blows away the common GDP cut ive seen. I just looked at room full of GDP and i could tell it was going to yeild like crap and I wouldnt run it, At 6 weeks only the tops looked good all the lower stuff was fluff. And the guy cant hit a lb a light. But i know it is good shit. My kens at 3 weeks were almost caught up to his at 6 weeks. Ya there is crappy GDP cuts around. Im pretty sure I can hit 1.5 in soil and no CO2 with kens, and Im sure someone could hit 2 with everything done right. That shit gets rock hard ,purple all the way down, No fluff and frosty as hell. Purple cash croppers dream......

purple afgoo was fire..but yea i haven't heard many good things about the purp strains..only from those who like the purple..and the really official kens cut..

The purps I grow is dank! The potency is a knock down super strong indica. I have seen it labeled as so many different things it is hard to nail down the exact name of the strain: erkle, purple kush, lavender, gdp, the purps, mendo purps. All in all it is an amazing and wonderful strain to grow, tastes like a mix of grapes and purple and is a fair to good yielder.

purple schmurple......lol....i ran the querkle x urkle and while it was the prettiest plant ever, it vegged and vegged and never really grew, the smoke was definetly the refrigerator straight to the couch type but i liked it for lazy days

Yep it think everyone that says it dont yield and dont get ya high are trippin balls.....My cut comes straight from the norcali hills and It yields great had one 4 z and one 5 z's last run also it is knock your dick in the dirt herb..... straight up! i barely smoke it unless Im sick or get a nasty migraine. but i got a few patients with the big c and they literally need it! Nothing helps them like the gdp......nothing!! Im a bit of strain whore and have given them at least 30 to 40 other strains to try in the past 3 years and none work for them like the gdp. I agree on there being soooo many different cuts out there that you guys and gals just have a mislabed one.....there are SSSSOOOOO many strains that purple up that once someone sees purple they name it something theyve heard of....I have one at 58 days right now and cant put up a pic if anyone wants.....In a sense I think you are misguiding the medical community by givin a thread this title. Because of its taste, yield, and medical qualities alone are nothing like what most of you speak of. I am not tryin to stir up anything..... Like I said I barely smoke it anymore myself but when I first got it all those years ago it was like candy so I did smoke it alot just on taste alone but When you gotta work everyday smoking gdp all day makes your ass drag big time...But for those that truly need it....the Real gdp is great medicine.

real gdp yields well and is reasonably potent urkel is more potent but yields less.

there are lots of crappy purple strains going around maybe it was not the true gdp cut.
