I had one problem where my ph got away from me and burned some leaf tips, fixed my probe on my meter and everything went back to normal. I use "Earth juice sea blast" during veg, as I've found plants easily screwed up at that point also.

I was trying to grow in the attic, that was crazy even for me. Just had to get my mind switched, made the space and glad I did.

Well ur pH is based on what is in your water. So it's not the "pH" that burns plants it's what u add to the water that burns them. pH is either higher( more alkali) or lower (more acidic) based on what up put in water

There is much more to growing then ppl realise. Been doing it 7 years and I'm still barely scratching the surface

Hey Juicey to be honest, don't exactly know what was the cause, but PH was wtf out of wack. Fixed my probe, problem and leaf tip burn went away. Didn't persue it further but for reference I would appreciate your two cents (no sarcasm). Thanks Dan

if we want our PH to be around 6.5 -6.8

so do you have a good simple artical on Ph.

im on a well and ot tested my water yet, been usiong distiled for now.. but that is gonna change soon.

anyhow, i have hard water.. it taste fine.. but what does hard water really mean.

and for the record i am a noob, iv only been at this three months, and made every fucking mistake possible.. if i make it to flower ill be shocked but im gonna try with all my challenges ahead of me.

thank you in advance.

Hey Jipp we're all the same, much of what we know has been by fucking things up, and figuring out what it was. My tap water is 8.5-9.0 on a regular basis. My wife's quite susceptible to high PH, and she's the one that made me check it (tap water) just to be sure I wasn't losing it. (Age related, ha ha). This grow, which "blew me out of the water" for results. Was because of; smaller number of plants, (6), got the fuck out of the attic (bumped my head plenty, no joke), aged, and bubbled my tap water prior to using, and PH'd everything I gave my girls. I did augment my lights with the King Plus 1200 in each tent, but neuts essentially stayed the same from last season. (That's when I got the dreaded PM, learning painfully after that exhaust stays on 24/7 I don't care what the electrical costs are for that.

Best way to learn!

Dan789 I've got the same problem with my water (city water though) - very hard and PH almost 9 - have to test and adjust every drop. It was driving me crazy and was way too much work.

Put some rain barrels on your downspouts and use that. Our rain water PH'd a little above 6 (PERFECT!) and is naturally soft. Since it has almost no minerals, you'll need to make sure to feed well when using rain water.

I put mine in this Spring and my seedlings are already twice the size they would usually be.

Ooh, nice stuff.
I was going to do soil, but was worried about bug outbreaks.
After looking at this, I think I can whup some bugs if that's the payoff.

@1816 House, towards the last few months with our unseasonable monsoons here in California, RH was through the roof. Had to get and use 24/7 a fifty pint dehumidifier (which filled up daily) and exhaust constantly as I knew what happens with moist air and buds, PM. Didn't want that so as to my comment on your subterranean situation.

That is definitely a huge concern for me in that basement. I appreciate the advice, you butt kicked me to get those other windows open, lol.
Nothing worse than moldy buds, ick!

The water boiler/ furnace is by the tent also. That drives out the moisture too.
I have to keep a fan running all summer on the other end and get a second fan running to exhaust the moisture and draw in warmer air really soon.

The weather's is variable here. Hazy hot humid like the south the last few weeks, and could be Canadian Summer 70's and 11% RH the next.

In the Winter, I'll vent directly into the basement for heat and added humidity . (We've gone from 72 to minus 24 in the same week in February, almost 100 deg. swing )
