Yes that was when i used a plate with a paper towel and it dried out. Happened two times, then i started using zip bag.Do you ever get seeds that you can se
e the root start to poke out then stops growing?
I do too. I've compensated by buying more than I need and am surprised when a particular variety all pop and grow. Then I have the problem of 'culling' which I hate doing.Do you ever get seeds that you can se

How deep do you plant the seeds with tap?I do too. I've compensated by buying more than I need and am surprised when a particular variety all pop and grow. Then I have the problem of 'culling' which I hate doing.
I usually soak the seeds in a solution of H2O2 and water for at least 12 hours, then into paper towels. When most of the other seeds have a nice tap root I will go ahead and plant the half open seed but it usually doesn't emerge with the others. I have dug them up and found they have liquefied/rotted inside.
Might be the temperature. I know people use heat mats, but I just fry them that way. And last summer I tried to germinate Auto seeds in July and most did not survive. Please let us know if you find an answer.
FYI, I was shocked and pleased when all the Grape Dragons, and CBD Dragons seed I bought from 7 East Genetics popped within 2 days and survived planting. The Headstrong (free) seeds did not do as well. Oh, and they were regular seeds, not feminized.

Not deep enough, 'cause I have lots of helmet heads. That's okay, I've gotten my assist perfected and don't lose too many anymore. How deep do you plant the seeds with tap?
May i make a suggestion? Not deep enough, 'cause I have lots of helmet heads. That's okay, I've gotten my assist perfected and don't lose too many anymore.
yes that goo stuff came out the blackberry moonrock seeds that i waited 5 days on and finally just squished them.Yes, old, nonviable and corrupted seeds will do it. The most common one I've seen is the shell cracks, a tap looks like it's going to emerge, and then white "plant goo" the same color as a taproots ends up oozing from the seed.
If it pokes a pointed tap root out, ie the clam neck, it should be viable. If you're using a paper towel, make sure it's only damp and not even moist. You should have to wring it to produce a drop of water. If you have precision temperature control, set it to 78 degrees. It's a perfect middle of the road tropical temperature. If you have that and the right moisture, it's the seed... Not you. That's if it cracks and fails. If it won't crack, it could be completely nonviable (Lost core seed moisture or it sat too high), it was stored improperly, or there could be a coat of resin on the seed preventing water from penetrating the shell. This is where nicking or scratching comes into play. You're scraping a small part of the seed shell exterior to remove the resin barrier so moisture can get inside.
one of my outdoor sprouts had a stuck helmet really messed up the colyon thought it was gonna dampen off it had bent head LOL but she perked up over night thank goodness. I usually just use droplets of water on those helmets and they get pushed off......most the time anyway. Not deep enough, 'cause I have lots of helmet heads. Actually I think that is was freebies that cracked and then rotted . The latest were royal queens og kush that were packaged not for resale that were given to me. I have seen some that pop in 2 -3 days and never stop growing that really surprised me.I do too.
