One can hope so, I also have Do-Si-Dos. I have 3 of each.Wish I could help but I'm a soil grower. If you have the same cut of wedding cake my boy in CO has, you are in for a treat
I want the root riot cubes 1/4-1/2 above the flood line or 1/4-1/2 into the flood line? I only have perhaps a cup of soil in the solo cups, hoping it comes right off dunking them. I mixed happy frog 4/1 with perlite.Yea anywhere between 1/2- 1/4 deep above the flood line, as for dunking them to remove the soil just make sure you get pretty much all of it! Getting soil out from roots can be a pain in the butt, but if you dont the organics inside that soil can harbor bad bacteria later on after staying wet too long!
Good Luck!
That's exactly the answer I was looking for.You want about 1/2 the cube above the flood line and the other half submerged, because when you flood it will soak into the half above the line still but not cause it to be water logged, it just gives better aeration to the roots once they get bigger, because if they are fully submerged, even if for only 10-15 min you are limiting the amount of oxygen the roots can actually get.
You can also submerge them up to 3/4 below the flood line if you want, its just preference at that point. Doesnt really make any major difference once your roots grow big, but in the beginning before they get big roots your plant will do better with more air on the top, even though its hydro imagine soil where the top surface is dry but the soil further down is still wet, you want the cubes to kind of be the same, you dont want your root ball later to be completely submerged later on.
definitely keep a journal! Its helps greatly! That's exactly the answer I was looking for.
You seem familiar with what I want to do. I have another question.
I have my flood set on a timer every 3 hours during lights on and one flood midway thru lights off. Does this sound about right or should I adjust it one way or the other?
I intend to do a journal if I don't murder them while transplant them.
Thanks
also if you have the ability to I would recommend printing this picture out and posting on the wall outside the roomThat's exactly the answer I was looking for.
