Going back inside for the winter

Im gonna be moving back inside to a new setup im getting rounded up now. A 5x10 ft tent 2000watts of hps, some oscillating fans thermometers and some other slight bells and whistles. Im gonna get a 720 cfm 8" fan and filter im also getting some parabolic reflectors because theres no way in hell im spending an arm and a leg on light cooled hoods. So my question is simply if im sucking air out of my house which stays about 75f all winter long will this fan be enough to cool it all. just a yes and no you dont even have to explain lol

Right on thx Walter could I maybe get a 10 inch and run a reducer? The biggest the tent has is 8" ports maybe I could run the fan outside and run 2 eight inche tubes into a coupler into the fan?

Running open bulbs like that, you are gonna need cold air. The fan is big enough to move some serious air through this area but 75 degrees aint gonna cut it. Honestly, air cooling the lights would be a huge problem solver for you. Then 75 degree intake temp would probably do okay. You already have the perfect inline fan get some cheap 8" air cooled hoods and appropriate sized carbon filter and you are in business. My 2 cents for what its worth.

I considered that but I suspect that the cheap air cooled hoods i looked at wont give as much coverage at 21"x24" as would a 45" parabolic or am i mistaken and if the coverage is less then would it be a significant difference?

2 1000w will cover easily this area. I would center them both over a 3x6 table and do some trellising. My boy pulls almost 4 lbs with that setup with hydrofarm radiant 8" hoods.

You could also look for used gear. I don't know if there is a hydro store near you, but if there is inquire about used gear. Even if they don't have used gear in stock, there are often customers who are making upgrades or changes and want to sell their used gear.

you mean center 2 1000s over one table what about putting 2 4x4 tables and one light over each?

That sounds like a good idea gun i forgot about the hydro store around here lol i avoid those places like the plague unless its an emergency. thx guys

Personally I am of the opinion that a 1000w light sufficiently covers a 4x4 area. So using two 4x4 tables with a 1000w over each will get you what you are looking for, you could also use a 4x8 table.

I am always intrigued about people staying away from the hydro shops. Ten years ago I would have understood, but these days the hydro shops are safe to go to. So why avoid it like the plague?

If you put 4x4's you won't be able to set foot inside your tent. 54" is the outside dimension of botanicare 4x4's. Go with a 3x6 and trellis your canopy out to 4x7. Leaves enough room to get in there and work around your table.

I just read through the thread and I don't understand why you're running everything in a tent to begin with?

WWF is giving excellent advice on sizing and technique. If it were my setup I would go with two aircooled hoods just as he suggested, which would then allow me to seal the tent with a little A/C or some such and supplement with CO2...

the 3x6 sounds good i was just wondering, and im going in a tent because I dont wanna get into remodeling a room for this i dont need anything crazy and I wouldnt do co2 and all that because im moving next summer about 5000 miles from here and that place i will remodel a room for so i dont wanna spend a butt load of money on a set up. its essentially just a temporary set up for 5 or 6 months. probably gonna only get one run with it and ill just use the equipment at my next place.

Prices are crazy at most and im just not a huge people person. Plus i feel when i go in there that people just know im not in there to grow fuckin daisies lol so i just avoid it all together. I have a guy that owns a hydro store and he sells online as well he hooks me up on shipping and gives no grief about warranties and such. Im thinking of callin up my buddy and seeing if hes got any equipment i can have as well lol Ive known him since i was 11 and had no idea his dad owned C.A.P. lol kinda nice if it works out to my advantage. i remember back then walking around his garage fixing our bike tubes and rigging up our pellet guns and having to move these 5 and 600 dollar greenhouse controllers I had no idea that I would be using them one day for this lol

Yeah intake/ exhaust no CO2 should be a cheap and easy tent to operate. How many plants you thinking of running? Id suggest 15 in 2-3 gal containers for the 3x6.

Beings you asked that question youve had me thinking, could i just take half a room and grow in it something like this? Just mylar on three walls and leave the rest of the room open that would beat having to have a tent. Putting two 4x4 flood tables in the room hanging lights from the ceiling i just assumed only using half the rooms size i would need a tent for more control on the environment and more reflectivity.

ya i was thinking 3 gallon pots ive always used 1 gallon pots in the past and i would get 2.5-3 ozs per plant with a 600w hps and a cheapy air cooled hood

I like this idea too. I would suggest panda film over mylar way easier to work with. Your SQ footage just got alot bigger so youll need a huge fan to keep the air pulling nicely. I know I hate working over my 4x4 tables. And reaching to the back is impossible. But if you put the tables on castors you will be money. Hey you betcha brother mang! glad i could help.

Ya for sure man this way I could walk all the way around the tables and easy access to it all then I could put in a window a/c and make life really simple lol I could then put 9 plants per table. And ya panda film for sure I love that stuff I've used both and just trying to put mylar up is a pain in the ass lol and its noisy. I'm thinking between the a/c and an 820cfm fan I could keep the room clean and maybe still usr my parabolic reflectors? I could still get some cheap air cooled hoods but I REALLY wanna use open reflectors lol
