Greedings to all.
After a long time growing in soil mix first outdoors and then indoors, I decided to try my hand in hydroponics and sinse a fair amount of mistakes are to be expected I thought I should do a diary of sorts so that other people might save some of their time by not repeating them. Of course opinions are welcome. Knowledge even more so.
Method of choice is the aquafarm pot. A plant grows roots in a 10ish gallon pot of clay pebbles sitting atop of another pot which holds 5 gal of nutrient solution that is circulating through an air pump that also aerates the liquid. Aerated solution comes to the top and drips on the pebbles through a hollow ring with holes all around. The pebbles are saturated and the liquid returns to the lower tank through holes drilled to the upper one and the procedure repeats itself for as long as the air pump is on.
Strain of choice a purple ayahuasca from barneys farm that I had laying around in my fridge.
Lamp of choice is the P2000 250 watt full spectrum LED from vipar spectra wich I have been using for quite some time now. Some would say that it is not really suitable for flowering but I think it does the trick.
Fertilizers and chems from GH. Tri part system that I have been using for years on my soil mix, plus a PH down solution and testing kit. Also an EC meter which is of great valye to cultivators of any kind.
So a couple of sundays ago I germinated my seed in a block of rockwool that I had soaking in acid solution untill its residual water show a PH of 6 and a couple of days later when roots started sprouting from the rockwool I transferred the whole cube in the pot after I rinsed the pebbles in an acidic solution per instructions and conditiond my water and nutrient solution to PH 5.5 and there we go....
