Hey everyone, I'm new to the site but not new to growing, I've just been unable to do so for the last few years but now i'm able so have been having a rummage in the seed stash.

Strains
Grape 13 by Hazeman seeds - Grape Stomper x G-13

Unknown x Anesthesia which is a strain I've done a few grows with, it came about years ago after me and a few mates made various crosses of all sorts and shared them between us.
Well I managed to get some of mine mixed up (genius) I decided to grow out the unknown ones as we expected to be able to identify them once grown, most were identified by traits they inherited from their parent strains but one had no recognizable traits of either parent so we just stuck with calling it "Unknown".

A while later when I was growing out some Anesthesia by Sannies seeds I had quite vigorous growing male so I decided to pollinate the Unknown with it, these seeds have been used on multiple grows with great success of passing on the genetics of the Unknown in some of the phenos, I may even have an accidental cross of this and Strawberry Diesel which I may put in the veg tent soon too.

Starting things off
8 Grape 13 and 8 Unknown x Anesthesia went in root riot cubes a few days ago and have been sat next to a radiator to get things started, most of them have already cracked, some poking their heads out, some showing roots and some being a bit lazy still.

Today I potted up 3 of each into 1.5L pots of coco, the stuff I used was washed with Calcium Nitrate, I pre-charged the coco with a light dose of formulex and PH'd the water to 5.8, the others will be potted as they poke their heads or show me some roots.

The tent is a DR120 by Secret Jardin and I've got them under an 8 x 54watt T5 hood which is where they will all stay until possibly put a 400watt MH over them.
I will be putting a small clip fan in the tent shortly to stop them getting too lanky.

The plan
The plan is to hand water them for a while until they build up a nice root system and then run them in a drain to waste setup with drippers, I just need to finish off seeing what bits I'll need for the dripper setup.

Once they've got a bit of size on them they'll go in the flowering tent for sexing and flowering.
The flowering tent is 1.2m x 2.4m and has 2 x Lumatek Ultimate pro 600w 400v digital ballasts, I use parabolic reflectors as I feel they give a much better light spread.
The strains will have separate dripper systems so their feed can be tailored to what they want.

I will be using Ionics nutes by Growth Technology as I've used these before (in hydro) and they gave me just a good results as other brands which cost twice as much or more.

Thanks for stopping by and reading all of the above, feel free to pull up a chair or offer tips and advise as I've been out of the game for a while now so am likely a bit rusty, I'll leave you with 2 pics of what is going on so far.

I have some Ionic stuff but never used it as I know nothing about it. Good to hear it works. I might crack it open. I'm along for the grow.

Thanks for joining the journey.

The Ionics stuff is what I used to grow those 2 trees in the pic in my introduction post, I thought they were worth trying as if they were shit why would they be sold everywhere and have been around for so many years? Hopefully they'll be just as good in coco.

Time for a little update, I've had a few problems in the tent.

So far only 3 of the 8 Grape 13 seeds have popped which is quite disappointing but I have had them sat in a box for a few years so maybe that's why? the remaining seeds are still in cubes in the prop.

6 of the Unk x Ani are potted up now with the last 2 in the prop but they are showing their heads so that's 8 out of 8 for these even though they're older seeds and have been kept in the same box as the Grape 13 seeds.

I've had nute burn issues and overdose of N (clawing) this is due to my EC meter failing to give correct readings even with new batteries and being re-calibrated, I've bought a bluelab truncheon now and have already fed them at a lower dose to even things out a bit so hopefully by next update they'll be in better shape.

One of the Grape 13 has self topped itself which is shown in the first pic, followed by shots of all 3 Grape 13

And here are the Unk x Ani pics including the babies and the freak which is throwing out some mad leaves, possibly down to having no dark period for most of its life as I have the prop in the same tent and the light keeps the prop warm and humidity up.

Thanks for stopping by.

How's your ph? This run in full organic potting mix I'm not doing the ph thing to compare to my last grow which I did ph everything. There is some debate in organic soil mix...Some say you have to ph others not. So I thought I would compare the two. When mine were young like yours I got the weird bendy leaves as my ph must of been a bit off. Since then iv had no issues and no twisty leaves. Also a couple of mine got stuck in the shells so I helped em but they had weird leaves for a lil bit. I'm popping lots more seeds in the next day or two as I now have a separate veg only tent. Happy days!

My ph is at 5.8 unless my ph meter has given up on me at the same time as my ec meter.

The parabolic reflectors are brilliant, I went through loads of different hoods including air cooled and normal and once I had the parabolic ones setup and saw the difference in light spread I stuck with them, you can easily cover 1.2m x 1.2m with a 600 watt bulb and have complete coverage.
Mine were a bit banged up from storage so I just got 2 more which allow you to mount the bulb vertical or horizontal which is a nice feature, if I was running all 1 strain I'd do a side by side with 1 bulb each way to see if it makes a difference.

What are you popping next? I've got a few more strains in my box including Skunk #1, Vanilla Kush, Strawberry Diesel, Martian Mean Green, Blue Bubba, Anesthesia, a cross of Anesthesia and Fastbud auto (which I never grew out to finish making them all autos), a possible cross of Unknown x Anesthesia with Straweberry Diesel and a few crosses done by mates in the past, not to mention all the single seeds I got as freebies over the years, oh and a THCBay order on its way

Mine are on the formulex at the moment, I tried the silicon in the the past in a hydro grow, not sure I tried their green haze, think I just used the basic hydro ones but they worked really well. thanks.

Yeah I'm in the UK, down in South Wales, yourself?

By the way how do you dose the formulex? I was told by someone what I wasn't using enough of it just using the normal ppm as it has low NPK content?

Well it's good to know I am using it right, I use nitrozyme for foliar feeding every now and then.

I've not actually built either of the Parabolics yet but I'll throw a pic up as soon as I have done.

I used to live up more up that way, in Worcestershire.

If anyone was following this sorry for the lack of updates going on but apart from a few problems I had due to not realising I now live in a soft water area not much has been going on until now.

Most of the plants have been hacked up for clones and labelled in their batches, they are just over 5 weeks old so should show me some pre-flowers soon, the rooted clones will get a few weeks veg and then go in the flowering tent for the interesting part.

A question for anyone else who grows in coco... would it be best to put the rooted clones into 1.5L pots and then into 3.5L at 12/12 or put the rooted clones straight into the 3.5L pots?

I personally start small then transplant upward.I also know peeps on here who pot straight into big potz.ive always worried that the roots will be wet too long risking pithium,or at least slow growth.can be done though bro..

Are you in coco too? How long do you veg yours for?
I use 75% coco with about 25% perlite mixed in so wouldn't have thought there would be much risk?
If I'm only vegging them for 2 weeks odd I just thought 2 weeks veg in 1.5L pot then transplanting into 3.5L pots might stress them out?

You should be fine,I'm in soil mix with coco, perlite and worm castings.I've done straight coco and a lot of hydro growing before that.To be honest,I'm having a lot more fun and better reults with the soil mix I'm using.im planning on keep re using it.just amend it and add zyme to break down the old roots.is this your first coco grow?
