Grape Ox and Durban Poison Diary

Hello, this is my first grow. I'm in a 5x5 tent.
The Durban Poison is on day 32, and the Grape Ox is on day 25 (1st sprout died and I popped a new one after it fell over and dried out).
I'm growing in 5gal pots in a random mix of soils I had laying around from various greenhouse flowers, vegetables and herbs.
They're under a 1000w hood. And my Temps stay between 78 and 84° during the day, and the humidity has been down around 20% (is this bad?)
I have two small 8inch desk fans circulating air. Intake and output fans.
And a fan pulling cool air through the hood.
I started this thread for advice and comments on how I'm doing and diagnosis of any problems I'm having or may face soon.
Over the last few days, the fan leaves on the Durban Poison have begun to "umbrella"? and claw downward, take on a ridig scab-like appearance, and new growth looks spindly.
Today I drilled a bunch of 5/16" holes in the sides of the bottoms of the pots and poked a sharpened ¼" dowel into the soil a few times in hopes of airing/drying out my possibly too damp soil.

I'll add a few pictures of their progress. I can post them individually if needed.

I'm not sure if I've covered all my info bases, let me know if you see something I'm not seeing or explaining well.

(The sticky traps were for some gnats I had)

Next run suggest starting seeds in much smaller containers. You’re in danger of overwatering and the Durban is showing it.

I was afraid of that. Would it be worth repotting it now or letting it dry out? I haven't watered it for about 8 days and the top inch and a half is dry, but the holes I drilled pulled out pretty damp soil.

Personally I’d transplant into a 1/2 gallon container. But you can do this as they are. Pick the bags up daily. You’ll feel the difference as they dry. Don’t let them get bone dry though.

I haven't tried them yet. Nobody has mentioned them as a seed source. Did I go to the wrong place?

I don't know for sure.
I say "promo" because I don't remember ordering them and they showed up in the mail from somewhere I've never ordered from.

Their description says “mostly sativa”. It’s a landrace strain that in its pure form is all sativa. Also it requires about 85 days to finish flowering. Not 8-10 weeks. But unless you’re breeding what does it matter?

Well I maintain an IBL Durban. Originally sourced from Alaska Cannabis Cache. History is online. Not trying to run around ACC. They stopped selling regular seeds about 3 years ago. So if they won’t I will. Multiple people here have them. Regular only.

Treat them like an auto flower until they get there 5th leaf set. Just water in the center around the outside of the leaves and not the whole pot. After they get their 5th set of leaves the start expanding the water area an inch or 2 every week after.

These guys that step up from smaller pots could probably tell you from experience at that size there probably only consuming 16-20 oz every 2-3 days.

If your humidity was high and you had them water logged they would be showing more prominent sings because the wouldn't be able to perspire off the excess water fast enough.

Hard to give you an exact number on humidity but 55% to 60% would be good in veg if the weren't watter logged.

Do some research on VPD and it will at least give you and idea about your relation to humidity.

I step up in nursery bags. Little different than pots. They dry out quicker and I can see the roots to know when to drop them in a bigger bag

I'll work on getting my humidity up when I get my watering under control. I still haven't watered again and neither lady seems thirsty yet.
I probably need to pull the Durban out and repot it. It seems to be improving very slowly.

Well, I think things are starting to get better after not watering for a couple weeks. I've seen no signs of thirst yet and gave them a couple oz of high quality H2O today.
The Grape Ox (pic ) hasn't really shown many signs of overwatering, BUT the new leaf sets are finally lightening up. The older fan leaves are very dark green.

As for the Durban Poison (pic ) The fan leaves are showing light green edges and some brown spotting, but hasn't gotten any worse in the last week, and the "clawing" isn't nearly as prominent on new growth, but I am getting a very small amount of yellowing on the new leaf tips. Is that part of the past overwatering?
I've also gotten my humidity to sit around 45%

What the heck is happening!?
I'm on week 3 and one of the two Durban clones I have flowering started showing these leaves a couple days ago from the bottom up. The other Durban and Grape Ox are looking great. Same rain water, same soil, same everything. Could it be from the soil drying out too much?
