Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi! I'm an old fart of 35 from SD, born and raised and have been smoking for more of my life than I haven't. I hadn't smoked for a couple years when I got sick of my migraines and all the pills. All the neurologists tell me is I have chronic migraines and throw more drugs at me. Cannabis replaced Ritalin, Norco, Percocet, Prozac, alcohol and all the migraine meds and got me off all that nasty crap.

I live with my girlfriend who has spent the last 10 years of her life adjusting to and dealing with her Lupus and Becet's Syndrome along with chronic Migraines. She hadn't touched cannabis in years, but when a migraine lasted more than a week and we'd already been to the hospital, I watched her go from tears to laughter almost instantly when she smoked. Since then I've watched her throw out bottle after bottle of unused pills and it's so remarkable. That's why I grow. When I see the relief she gets and how much it helps me, I knew I wanted that personal relationship with the plant while avoiding the thugs and expense of buying enough medicine to keep us stocked.

Hope you're all well and thanks for reading!!!

Thanks so much! I had done a couple grows and have been loving it. Thankfully very few if any problems and everything has been so super amazing I haven't had any extra to donate to collectives, just friends and family! Makes you realize why you've never gotten anything like your own before... because the growers usually keep the best stuff! :)

I found a place that was selling bagseed and I was able to score, for $1 a piece, the following with a 100% germination rate so far!
- Platinum Kush

- Acapulco Gold

- Maui Wowie

I've got everything germing except 2 of the Platinums which I had popped earlier. As such, I've decided to take a stab at breeding, so that I always have a seed bank should I decide to grow and as laws get looser and friends and loved ones start looking for genetics, hopefully I'll be able to help them out at no cost.

I've got the following clones, so these would constitute the first cross:

1. BlueBerry (sorry, but unless you bought a seed from his company and that's what I'm looking at, don't disrespect the man's hard work and genius, even though it is the best strain of all time for me medically, regardless of seed bank)

2. Herojuana

3. Chedawg #4

4. Jack Herer

5. Jack Herer x Super Skunk (J-Skunk he called it)

I'm hoping the Platinum Kush pops a fella as that seems like a perfect base for all my crosses. Throwing in those landrace sativas is gonna be super fun!!!! Blue Maui Wowie etc...

Anyhow that's what I'm up to and thanks again for being so welcoming everyone!!!

My thought is first that I just really like those strains, but my next is that the Platinum Kush seems ideal for creating a manageable cross (height-wise and production-wise) with any sativa or indica. Being my favorite strain and loving Blueberry Kush I know I'll love those beans (even if it's from Platinum Kush and not OG) because Blueberry is made up of landrace strains, so adding a hawaiian sativa or mexican sativa, even if they're obviously not true landrace strains, could still be a good bit of fun and would be more in line with the original Blueberry breeding program. Anyway just thinking out loud ;)

Also I'll avoid banned stuff but fam can email me anytime at sdmedthumb -at- gmail ~dot-com~ and I'll reply ASAP :) Without saying anything non-copacetic I'm always down for trades or gifts (not specifying of what for the record) and get money from working my day job so only interested in giving stuff away to anyone that wants it or needs help and vice-versa :) Much Love! 858 crushes 619 boys!!! come on i thought you knew. you go to 619 for tacos or hookers on hotel circle.
hey man, about the migraines, ive had them since 95 from a chronic metabolic condition with my brain. mostly serotonin blockage and overdoses but they bring migraines by the truckload, and i smoke herb to help a lot.
the one thing i will recommend, is DONT FUCK UP YOUR TOLERANCE ON DABS. i would suggest to not dab at all. as someone that uses it as an actual medicine, not a psuedo natural heroin nod, it helps like hell at first, but then you start to chase the dragon. then you have the problems of your headaches AND the sick feeling of no dabs will give you. switching terps everything, i went back to flowers and within two weeks i was back to normal and thriving.

fun every now and then, but i also stay away from heavy heavy sativa dom stuff. it will race my mind and eyes and starts headaches until vomit/pass out.
spinach and kale shakes in the morning. she'll thank me, (you will too with her figure)

go to any farmers markets?

Actually I do hit the OB farmers market regularly and need to go back for this green superfood juice they have there. It's this one couple and they farm all their own vegetables to make the juice. A shot or two in the morning and you feel like you can take on the world! Also as I'm looking out over the ocean, I much prefer 858 to my 619 youth ;)

Also I'm with you on the whole dabbing thing. Call me old school but I prefer my flowers. Dabs remind me too much of poppers (and last about as long) and I feel like I'm missing out on some vital compounds of the plant material we haven't identified yet.

I can say with certainty that flowers > concentrates for my migraines and accompanying nausea hands down.

Is The Black still around?

Welcome. I used to live in Sunny SD, too. San Carlos area as an adult, La Mesa when a child and Dad was Navy.

I was recently FINALLY Dx'd with migraines after my first 2-week long headache, and smoking makes my headaches much, much worse. I really wish my beloved herb helped, but it doesn't. I'm glad it does for you, though. :D

Oh yes, the Black is still alive and kicking! I get all my wallet chains and cheap sunglasses (insert ZZ Top reference here) there ;)

Also the Dr. got the green light from the powers that be to rebuild his medicine chest after he had to tear it down prematurely, so seeds of Blueberry, Plushberry, ISS and Cheese are on their way to the garden! Thinking of running a BB tent with 5 babies (even males, it's all personal and the free seeds...), an ISS tent with the same and a slightly larger tent with the cheese and hopefully ISSxBDH, which if the doctor gets regular beans of today he's more than happy to pollinate the cheese with! Even if not, the ISSxCheese should be a skunk winner. Heading up to hell-a this weekend but then the closet-garden of the gods will be in effect and photos posted! Huzzah!!!!
